Everyone in tonights team deserves a place in the matchday squad, but thats unlikely.

If Dembele is not fully fit play Winksy next to Wanyama. Why the heck not?
If Dembele is fit I'd play:

-----------------------Lloris------------------------
Walker----Alderweireld--Vertonghen--Davies--
-------------Wanyama-----Dembele---------------
----Lamela-----------Eriksen------------Son-----
------------------------Janssen---------------------

Subs: Vorm, Wimmer, Trippier, Winks, Dier, Alli, Sissoko

I guess we will see Alli somewhere in the line up.

I doubt Lamela will start after playing the full match tonight and with CSKA on Tuesday. Poch might revert back to Dier and Wanyama for an away match ,if Dier is fit ,and save Dembele for CSKA( now a must not lose match). Could see the attacking 3 being Son, Alli and Sissoko

Sissoko, Alli or Eriksen to play next to Wanyama, not bothered which one it is.

I don't expect Lamela and Eriksen to both start, given the quick turnaround and the CSK game the following Tuesday. Lamela played the full 90 as well tonight.
He's playing so well, but I.just cant see Poch starting both of them, and probably neither will start. I'd start Alli out in Russia.

Vorm, Davies, CCV, Winks, , Onamah, Lamela, Eriksen,
with the CL away in Moscow 3 days later this is one line up hard to predict especially with Man C the following week. myself if Dembele isn't going to be able to play in a 3 match week, I would rather him face City, if he is a doubt I would still prefer the City match, even if it means seeing Dier and Wanyama in the middle v CSKA

Dier, Dembele, and Rose get more time to heal for the CL match and the City match.

I don't understand why virtually no one has both Lamela and Eriksen in their preferred team for this weekend. These guys are now the two best attacking players at the club with Kane injured. Since the beginning of last season, they've combined for something like 30 assists in all competitions. We won't be beating the likes of City or qualifying for the final 16 of the CL without them starting matches. Lamela hasn't started the last two PL matches. He is arguably the most fit player in the squad. He should 100% be starting against Middlesborough, which will not be an easy game, as they will be compact and look to frustrate us. In fact, I'd say Eriksen and Lamela should start all three games we have coming up before the break.

Anyhow, my XI, with an eye to resting both Dembele/Dier to save them from further injury pre-City:

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies

Sissoko Wanyama

Lamela Eriksen Son

Janssen

I would be surprised if Dier and Dembele are fit to play, so on that basis I'll go:

Lloris
Walker - Alderweireld - Verthonghen - Davies
Wanyama - Alli
Sissoko - Eriksen - Son
Janssen

Vorm - Trippier - CCV - Winks - Onomah - Lamela - N'Koudou

I'd play winks in a CM2, whether its with Dembele or Wanyama.

Would love to see him in a PL match.

The AMs can be any 3 of Alli, Lamela, Sissoko, Eriksen or Son. It wont matter which combo as all are capable of playing with each other well.

Think it will be a solid counter attacking type set up which is the best way to spanner these sides away - draw them out in front of their own fans then expose them on the counter:

Lloris

Walker
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
Rose

Wanyama
Dembele

Sissoko
Alli
Son

Janssen

Why does everyone drop Alli? Poch certainly won't

Potentially because this thread is about what we want to see, not what we expect to see, and several of us feel that Alli is not on form. Furthermore, replacing him with either Eriksen or Lamela injects a touch more vision into and otherwise very direct front four.
