We probably need Ndombele breaking lines and running forward, we don't need two players doing the same job, he got 7 assists last season so he's useful further up the pitch.

Absolutely he is, but then does Winks offer enough defensively to be the deepest midfielder? I don’t think so.

Do people think NDombele should have to cover for Winks defensively when NDombele is supposed to be higher up the pitch?

For this match Newcastle will probably drop deep and camp up so we'll need Winks to circulate and Ddombele to break, don't think Newcastle are going to offer much of an offensive threat to worry about that.

We don't really need Sissoko for this one. Newcastle will be cramped in their own box. Suspect Sanchez will keep his place. Would like Son to get minutes before NLD, even if it means one of Lamela or Moura to miss out.

Lloris; KWP, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose; Eriksen, Winks, Ndombele; Son, Kane, Moura

Like that. Flexible, 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1 potential depending on how it’s going.
Son & Moura can provide width if it’s getting congested.

I think you could play Lo Celso, Eriksen & Ndombele in this game in the midfield and be just fine.

Ndombele looks like a decent player but to discard Winks for Ndembele after two games does not make sense its a knee jerk response give Ndombele a decent run of games he may or may not be the answer to midfield problems you never know they may grow to compliment each other . I agree with Yankspurs at this moment in time Winks is one off the must play team members.
Like I have said before we are all spurs supporters and all watching the same games but our views on players are sometimes poles apart. I see class you see a problem with winks its hard to figure how opinions can be so different especially when we all want what's best for the team.

Where does Eriksen play?
Lo Celso - Ndombele - Eriksen

We're probably going to have 65%+ possession, just have the defenders stay at home and we should be stable enough at the back to withhold anything they throw at us.

If we must play a diamond formation then I'd go:

Lloris

KWP Toby Jan Rose

Winks
Ndomble Lo Celso
Lamela

Son Kane

But I would prefer:

Lloris

KWP Toby Jan Rose

Winks Ndombele

Moura Lamela Son

Kane

I think Lo Celso should start. The team which has the best chance of beating Arsenal next week includes him in the starting XI. But before we know if he can do that, he needs minutes against Newcastle.

Lloris

KWP ------Toby -----Jan---------- Rose

Ndombele Winks Lo Celso

Son -----Kane -----Moura
Yes. Lo Celso needs to start clocking meaningful minutes so he’s fully integrated in the next couple of games. If he’s Eriksen’s replacement (not like for like but bellends know what I mean), let’s get the fiery fucker out there

Look forward to welcoming Son back into the team. He was the difference vs this lot last season.

Let's just hope Mike Dean doesn't have his "I must prove to the world that I don't support spurs" hat on. The guy is a colossal wanker, which is saying something in today's society.

NDombele is a class above Winks. He’s already out performed him in the first two league games and he’s hardly got going. You can instantly tell he’s far better on the ball too and he is younger than Winks.

I do agree we all see different things but Winks is absolutely in no way a must play team member. That’s crazy. You just have to see what rival fans think of him, the consensus is our team is full of quality but Winks is generally seen as a major weak link and really average. If he was so important why has he been subbed off by Poch in the first two games after an hour? When as a CM do we ever see him boss a game? Or even have a shred of influence over a game?

The guy has had a few good games, many more average ones and he’s 23, he isn’t a kid anymore.

We all want spurs to win but when we see players playing that we feel aren’t the answer and it makes us less likely to win, people will want to make their point. He’s a squad player and nothing more. We need better.

Against Newcastle I’d like to see Sissoko, NDombele with GLC in front.

It's not really how a Regista works. NDombele and Sissoko are supposed to do the running and pressing and Winks should take up intelligent defensive positions but primarily should allow fluid movement of the ball from the defensive third into the middle third.

Dier/Wanyama/Sissoko are all awful at taking the ball on the half turn. NDombele currently has a real lack of intensity to his game and therefore is better operating further forward.

Winks is not without blame for our performances in the first two matches but the rest of the midfield are just as culpable. In fact, i'm surprised NDombele hasn't received any criticism at all. Yes he's finding his feet but he's look totally lackadaisical so far. For a team who want to play high intensity football he really needs to step it up.

Would you think Poch will start Son straight away? Can't see Poch dropping Lamela and there is certainly a case to start Lucas.

As a sidenote: considering Alli will return soon and Lo Celso can play as a number 10 as well, we'll have so many options offensively. Great to see!

Would like to see:

Lloris
KWP Toby Jan Davies
Ndombele Lo Celso
Lucas ---Lamela--- Son
Kane

- Since it's Newcastle at home I'd like Poch to try Ndombele and Lo Celso as a CM2.
- If he's fit enough Davies could use a start.
- I think Lamela and Lucas deserve a start after their goals.
- Eriksen on around 60 for whoever isn't performing.

Newcastle are pretty shit but I don't think they're quite as shit as the media are making out - Joelinton looks a handful and that Longstaff kid has a hell of a shot on him. Should still be a routine win though.

I think I’d go quite attacking. We need an early goal to give them a dent to their confidence. I feel like I’ve seen us lose quite a lot to Newcastle at home, especially when we’ve been expected to beat them in a straight forward manner.

Given that Eriksen has yet to sign a new contract and was poor vs Man City, I think he should be benched again until that situation is sorted.

With Son back and Lo Celso getting up to speed, we should be starting without CE and only bring him on if necessary.
