The season ended on Friday night, unless you desperately want a Europa League campaign on Thirsday nights in empty stadia to look forward to ?
Given the choice between European football or nothing, we should take Europe any day of the week.
I’ve never agreed with the notion that Europa league is a distraction, or two games a week is a problem for the players. Why qualify for the champions league if that’s the case?
2games a week? Top players will want that challenge.
Id love to hear an example of a team who actually won the Europa League and found it to be detrimental.
i know Chelsea won the league without any European football. Our business model doesn’t account for that approach. And Leicester was a total fluke.
We need any kind of European football next season.

Lloris
Sissoko Sanchez Dier Davies
Winks LoCelso
Moura Ndombele Son
Kane

Subs: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Cerkin, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Skipp, Lamela, Dele, Bergwijn

With the latter three coming off the bench last 20 mins to make a big impact.

Lo Celso should be one of the first names on the team sheet. He's the only one who can knit things together. I agree with others that him for Lamela might be enough change from the Utd match.

If he has Bergwijn and Son playing wide of him and Kane closer to the box, we should make chances.

He's a proper player, the heir to Eriksen, and we need him playing all the time now. Stop fucking around and get that slightly arrogant playmaker back in the middle of the action, finding space between the lines, and letting the other three finish things off.

That's assuming we don't sit off this hopeless West Ham side.

Tend to agree, the next 2 games will decide whether seasons still on or not.

Beating MU would have been great, but it was really a must not lose game & I think the only one of the so called top 6 still to play is the Arse.

The park the bus shit annoyed the hell out of me. So I want to see the flip side and see us control a game.

People picking a central mid of (just) Lo Celso & Ndombele... it’s never going to happen with Jose, I’m sorry. He’ll always pick someone to hold, and rightly.

I’d still like us to try Sissoko as a more disciplined 6, with Lo Celso and/or Ndombele in front of him.

Lloris

Aurier Sanchez Toby Davies

Lo Celso Sissoko Ndombele

Son Kane Bergwijn

subs : Dier, Vertonghen, Sessengnon, Winks, Dele, Lamela, Lucas

This is the XI I’d go with, but I reckon Jose will stick with the team vs Man U and just being Dele back in for Lamela. I thought Dier played well but he was visibly knackered at the end, and I don’t like Sissoko as a de facto DM but he at least has the physicality and athleticism for it as opposed to Winks. Both have as much defensive instincts as a pot plant

-----------Lloris-------------
Aurier Sanchez Dier Davies
------Sissoko Winks--------
---------Lo Celso-----------
Son--------------- Bergwijn
----------Kane--------------

Since Bergwijn has hit the ground running in England, this side should have tons of potency. He and Son should switch wings strategically, since the lop-sided full back approach requires quite different roles out wide. This side should be plenty better than West Ham. With some decent options on the bench too.

If Dele and Lucas are back then I’d start both of them just for the fresh legs. I’d keep one of Kane or Son on the bench to bring on at 45 minutes so that they can both go full throttle for 45 minutes each rather than ambling around trying to conserve energy.

Realistically speaking our season was over when we lost in the cup to Norwich. I think I’d be a lot more enthusiastic about these behind closed doors matches if we were in with a shout of winning a cup or a champions league spot.

Lloris

Aurier Sanchez Toby Davies

Sissoko Lo Celso Lamela

Stevie B Son Moura.

Dele unlucky but will play some part off the bench. Kane dropped because of his poor performance against Utd and due to him being injury prone.

Given what we've heard coupled with other factors, I'll go with.

---------------Lloris--------------
Aurier---Sanchez--Dier---Davies
-----------GLC--Sissoko---------
--Moura------Dele------Bergwijn
---------------Kane---------------

As much as it will tilt people, I don't expect N'Dombele to start unless it's in place of GLC/Winks.
Sissoko will get in for the physical aspect, Dele is sure to start and after seeing Son play 90 minutes, I'd expect Bergwijn to start and Son to come off the bench for either him, Moura or Kane.

Will be quite interesting to see Ngakia if he plays. Have seen a bit on Youtube which was a bit meh! but would like to watch him over 90 minutes.

I’m keen for us to just stick with the same CB partnership now of Sanchez and Dier and see if it can save us millions. Ideally, Tanganga would be fit and we’d stick with:
Lloris
Tanganga Sanchez Dier Sessegnon

but can’t see Sess getting the nod before Davies.

If Dier starts, Antonio will bully him. Dier is worse than Aurier when it comes to costing the team goals.
