Much riding on this game. As things stand, Spurs ahead of Liverpool by 4 points.

Two in form teams facing each other.
Liverpool last 6 games : WDWWWD (14 points)
Tottenham last 6 games : DWLWWW (13 Points)

Win would almost give us enough impetus, to finish ahead of Liverpool this season. But, remembering our last 2 away trips to Anfield, I will take a point now.

This is our team when we lost 3-0 to Pool this season at Jan
Lloris, Dier, Kaboul, Vertonghen,Rose,Nabil,Capoue,Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli, Ade

So, much has changed in 5 months...

My XI for Tuesday:

Lloris,
Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose
Mason, Bentaleb
Eriksen,Dembele, Chadli
Kane

Chadli for Lamela. And this time, would really like to have Townsend on bench as well.

Lloris
Walker Fazio/Dier Verts Rose/Davies
Stambouli Dembele
Townsend Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Think some rotation is necessary, that was a massive effort today.

On the other hand we have no game at the weekend so if the players are really up for it, then I'd take the same team as today except with Chadli in the XI for either Lamela or Dembele.

Disagree. If players are fit, lets simply pick the best XI. This is a 6 pointer for Top4.
That's what I wrote at the end of my post....?

I just said personally I can't see how a player like Mason for instance would be a 100% fit for Tuesday after the effort he put in today, so slotting in Stambouli (who's been great recently) wouldn't harm us at all.

Poch will know from training which players have the engine for another game on a Tuesday following a Saturday.

Would like the same team as yesterday, but Chadli for either Dembele or Lamela. Also OK with rotating Rose and Dier for Davies and Fazio if Poch fancies.

Liverpool would be playing their 3rd games in a week, with an eye over the weekend FA away at Palace......So hopefully, they will not have their strongest XI (or being lethargy) for the game with us....And they have mid week Europa Cup game (next week) as us....

Rodgers is playing 3-4-2-1 in recent games & have been doing defensively well. The formation allows a spare midfielder.

Lucas Leiva has been lucky mascot for them in this formation. Apparently he got injured against Everton & also Coutinho suffered a injury - though till now its been said Coutinho was precautionary substitution.

Regardless, this will be a different tactical challenge to Poch & team.

I am sure they will treat our game a priority than others, especially after dropping points against Everton

Yes, but Liverpool has had problems with consistency this season with an added mid week game (this being their first time in a few seasons playing mid week euro cup games).......so hope their inconsistency continues. But Spurs should play like they played Arsenal.....play like its a cup final game.

Agreed. If they want to climb back into the top four fight, through us would be the exact way to do it. They will play this one to win and Rodgers will play his strongest side if fit.

They are the in form team of PL...don't think they are inconsistent.

We just have to agree to disagree :) Like i mentioned, they were inconsistent with the added mid week Euro Games. Their recent good runs were "free" of the Euro games.

We need to keep that freshness in the squad otherwise the end of the season could be really bad.

We need to keep our best players in the team but imo there were one or two that can be swapped out

Liverpool probably wont have arguably their best player in the squad in the last couple of weeks or even this season, Lucas seems to be out. They haven't lost one game all season when he has finished the match and their record since his last injury:
7 wins
4 draws
6 goals conceded in 11 games

The 352 system relies on him imo. If he doesnt play we need Bentaleb and Mason to get in their faces.

Without him we can get at their defence and their weaknesses clearly our their RCB and LCB. Can and Sakho both panicked when Evertons wingers got in their faces. I think we should go Chadli and potentially Townsend. Sakho is in shocking form and never looks close to the player he was once touted to be

For our defence, I don't think we can start fazio as Sterling could be upfront but I can easily see the tosser starting Sturridge for the first time this season.

Kane
Chadli ----- Eriksen ----- Townsend
Mason ---- Bentaleb
Rose --- Vertonghen -- Dier --- Walker
Lloris

I know people consider Lucas a joke but he is playing like Sandro was for us in AVB's season and is huge for them. Without him and having Gerrard deeper and the difference in quality is big

Dier and fazio should be rotated depending on the opposition IMO.
Dier for the passing sides like arsenal and Liverpool, fazio for the west hams and burnleys who pump a lot of high balls into the box

I'll do this differently. IMO the following players should be certain starters, while those not mentioned can be replaced.

Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Rose, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Kane

Same as Arsenal for me. Running on adrenalin and feel good. Nobody deserves to be dropped and I'm sure they're all busting to be on the pitch at Anfield.
