The 2019 SC AINTREE GRAND NATIONAL TIPSTERS COMPETITION.

The competition runs for 3 days Thursday 4th - Saturday 6th.

There will be 3 prizes, Winner & Runner up & runner upper up.
Winner = ONE MILLION VEE
Runner Up = A HALF A MILLION VEE
3rd = A QUARTER OF A MILLION VEE

All you have to do is to Select a horse in every race over the 3 day festival.
And your selections for the day should be on here in time for the first race.
Once you have submitted your selections they cannot be changed.
Any problems, then PM me.

Dead heats: 1/2 the points.

1st. = 10 points
2nd. = 6 points
3rd. = 4 points
4th. = 2 points
5th. = 1 point

Races with 4 or less runners win only.
Races with 5-6-7 runners, 1st & 2nd only.
Races with 8 -15 runners 1st 2nd 3rd only.
Races with 16+ handicaps 1st 2nd 3rd 4th.
This year i will be going with the William Hill results... this means there could be extra places!

Everyday you can NAP one of your selections, this means that if it wins then you will get DOUBLE the points = 20 points.

I hope all is well with him and hope he returns to defend his title ....unless he's been banned!

Don't get me wrong that Tiger Roll is some horse, but 7/2 for the Grand National, feck that's short odds.

Defo, a class horse, but way to short for a 40 runner 4 1/2 mile schlep over those fences. If people follow the money though he'll end up shorter.

Shortest ever odds ....
The 1919 National was won by Poethlyn, ridden by Ernest Piggott. The pair had won an unofficial National at Gatwick in 1918 and on the back of this started 11/4 favourites, the shortest starting odds of any Grand National winner to date. (Only 22 runners)

A pile of stripped branches and foliage.
A man made hedge or obstacle.
A copious amount of a Forresters by product.

But not a 'fence'....

Genuine true story...in a pub quiz once and the question was "With what metal do they shoe racehorses". I immediately whispered 'aluminium' but my mate's wife emphatically and loudly insisted "It's Lead".
I replied "Honestly, they shoe racehorses with aluminium"..."Oh shoe" she replied "I thought he said shoot!"
