Agree, and its also probably why we are linked with Morgan who can pass well as well as play a DM role. Of our ex-Academy players Ryan Mason has shown he can tackle as well as pass, I'd really like to see if Poch will take him on as a project as he appears to be keeping fit now after a torid few years.

This video (and the others I posted) are also very encouraging about the appointment of Matt wells as u21 coach - he's good at explaing the basics of how the players should be playing, and is very much showing his Spurs pedigree of play. He's looking a better appointment than I first thought

I really hope so. Ive always followed his career and its been a shame he's had injuries and been sent on loan to some wrong clubs for him.

He's looked a lot better than Carroll on the two pre-season games.

@SkySportsPeteO: Highly-rated Tottenham starlet Harry Winks has agreed his first professional contract with the club. #THFC #Spurs

Thanks for that - I thought that all last years Academy Year 2 (except Akindayini who got a 3rd year scholarship and one player left) had already been given their first professional contracts (their 2nd Year Acdemy ones would have expired 30/6/14), so am a bit confused !

Sorry i don't follow u21 news very close. Is winks really highly rated? Even higher than milos, nabil, alex?
IMO, I'd say a touch behind Milos and nabil but ahead of alex. Alex isn't actually that highly rated compared to a few of our other prospects. Winks is regularly training with the first team and has travelled with the match squads on a number of occasions.

Its a weird point system - I think yoiu can get 4 points for winning by more than 2 goals or something.

But another way to look at it is that we beat the group winners (narrowly) and lost to the other 2 teams (narrowly). I don't know the age of the other teams but I'd imagine we had one of the youngest squads.

FFS got me excited there!

Haha I'm joking. I play up to the whole SL - CCV love in now :D

He He !

In all seriousness its quite a compimrent to him that he's with the u21's at age 16 - and indeed an honour to be capyaining them.

After being in the u18's all last season I was expecting him to stay with them again until Christmas and then move him up to the u21's, when he would have just turned 17. But now I'm not so sure - he may start with the u21's and play with them for the season, and in which case in 15/16 the question would be do we loan him out as a 17 year old or try to give him some first team games at Spurs, like I'm hoping we'll do with Milos this season!

Either way the future is looking very bright for CCV.

in sure they had a pic of zamora up in reception, he was at spurs at the time with the 'i was a spurs fan as a boy' line on signing, but everyone knew he was spam.

i did my pe teacher training at uel and had to do sessions at barking abbey every Monday with Dave and a bloke who im sure his name was Andy. Was living in Dagenham at the time, lavverly part of the world

First team starter by age 18... Haha it's been shown it can be done, but maybe not that young. We should look to emulate how everton have done with stones imo.

Well if you want to look at records, Bostock ,made his Spurs debut in a UEFA Cup match at a little under 17 and Steve Carr had his PL debut aged at just over 17.

Stones is a slightly different case in being bought by Everton from Barnsley at almost 19 in January 2013, made his domestic cup debut in autumn of that year and first PL start in January this year. So if you argue that his time at Barnsley was the equivalent of a loan, he had is loan time at age 18, similar to what I'm suggesting for CCV.

Of course there is nothing to stop Poch giving CCV a debut this season, emulating Steve Carr's debut timing, but I'd prefer Poch to wait until CCV is properly ready - and as he's just made his u21 debut, this season might be too early, but we might reconsider that judgement in the secind half of the season if CCV exceeeds expectation in the u21's !

Yep it's the away kit- looks navy and green to me as well and the kit looks pink so it's just a horrific photo:

There is some bad photo editing going on in that picture, colours are all fucked up, just look at the keepers kits.
