Sky Sports had the attendance at 52k

Assuming the 16k empty seats were in the "friends of Uefa" area's.

Utterly despicable.

Edit - checked again and says 63k now. Odd!

Yep, I got one in a specific spurs block and managed to convince them to deliver to the UK.

Given where prices have ended up, the cynic in me reckons they might have cancelled “cheap” tickets bought for £3k to try to resell at £8-9k
A friend of a friend often supplies the tickets to these companies. Viagogo had several thousand tickets not turn up that they had effectively sold. They used the person I know to buy the tickets for them, it cost them half a million in what they thought they were going to pay vs what they did pay.

Stubhub I believe just shrugged their shoulders and issued refunds.

The issue probably was that the initial seller underestimated the value of the ticket and never delivered it to the company. Of course they’ll lose their account with the re-seller but I doubt they care about that vs an extra thousand or 2.

After all that - THE SEAT NEXT TO ME (IN OUR END) WAS EMPTY THE WHOLE FUCKING GAME. WHO DOESN'T BOTHER TO TURN UP TO THE BIGGEST GAME IN SPURS HISTORY?!!?

Probably went and stood with his mates.

3 of us applied in phase 1 and the other in phase 2 but we all stood together at the game

No, UEFA (and FIFA) don't make reselling tickets illegal because it's part of the gravvy train for their internal electorate: vote for me as head of UEFA/FIFA and you'll get your two tickets to every major game you can flog for serious cash. If you're the head of the Moldovan FA, that 50-100k a year "extra" money is a big deal.

I thought they said reselling of tickets for the final was banned/ criminal act.

You giving your ticket in England to a mate is a criminal offence. A corrupt corporate bigwig in Moldova selling their ticket for a hundred times the face value is positively encouraged :)

An English bloke in my hotel offered me a uefa ticket for 6k pounds and I said no . I had all of his fb details and wanted to report him that’s all . I was under the impression uefa were saying any of this type of behaviour is not allowed. Plus ticket touting is illegal in Madrid?

Any ideas if I can report this ?

Spurs added a contractual condition of buying the ticket from spurs would be that they were non-transferrable. In practice this wasn't checked but theoretically Spurs' would have had the contractual legal right to void Spurs' End tickets that had been transferred.

English law prohibits the general resale of Football tickets.

Neither of these has any bearing on a UEFA delegate selling UEFA tickets in Madrid (where Spanish law applies). I can't comment on Spanish law about ticket resale [no clue]. Feel free to make a complaint to the Spanish police if you feel Spanish law has been broken and you have convincing evidence (no "he said, she said stuff").

Names of the purchaser on the ticket when it's printed, would completely solve the re-sale problem. The fact it hasn't been done, suggests the powers that be don't want to eradicate the re-sale market.
