Bit late on this but RIP the great man. Vale
As a side note, playing backyard cricket with the next door fella's, Bob was the one i loved to imitate. His action was so unique. It was fun. But by golly he was bloody effective. And a very well respected man over here.

The first test against those pesky Kiwi's just finished the second day. Labuschagne has scored his third century in as many games. We finished 416. At stumps the kiwi's are 5/109 with Ross Taylor still there on 50+. Williamson out to a spectacular Smith catch. They are in the poo.

Question chaps. Phil Salt. Playing for my home team Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash. Whats he like ?
He's done well in the domestic stuff over here and he was selected in an international squad this year I believe, without checking for sure I'm not certain that he actually played. But he's a young lad that gives it a clout early on.

£590,000 for Sam Curran in the IPL auction. :wideyed:

I'm off to the attic to see if I can find my old bat and pads ...

Mine is below. I'd have Jofra in there if it was an option. A bit crazy based on one series but some of those spells were unbelievable and so different to anything else we've seen this decade.

As it’s this decade I’ve gone slightly different, Strauss was coming towards the end of his career and only played until 2012 so I’ve barbecued him. But I’ve kept Prior in as I feel he was better than Jos currently.

100 for Ollie Pope in the warm up with a much more reflective strike rate of his usual approach. Could be very effective at 6.

RIP indeed.........…...………..... bloody worrying though as he was younger than I.:barefoot::barefoot:
Eventually most people are.
You always think of Pop stars and sportsmen you grew up with
as much older than they actually are.

I grew idolising of Jimmy Greaves hence my blogging and posting name.
In fact he's only 2 years older than me.
Two of the Beatles were younger and only played together for 7 years.
Seemed lmuch longer then.

Leading world Test wicket taker in 2018 (or some 12 month period, can't remember exactly), much better batter than Swann, and didn't quit half way through an Ashes series.
I can't say that I agree with one good year getting you into that team. And I strongly disagree that he's much better than Swann. Out of interest I just looked, amazingly they both played 60 test matches.......Ali kills Swann for batting but Swann easily outbowls Ali and given the names in that batting line up I'm not sure Moeen is needed for his prowess with the willow. Look at me being all crickety......

Although like you, I didn't have much respect for how he walked out of the Ashes like that.......
