That's the first time England have not lost the first match of a series in 6 attempts.
They'll probably lose the rest.
Plucked victory from the jaws of defeat.
Listened on TMS overseas
Very entertaining, four days well spent.
Good job I'm not a gambling man
Could have lost a lot of money there.

I think Crawley for Stokes is a given, I'm sure Anderson and Broad will be maintained, Woakes will keep his place, so it's then basically one from Curran, Archer, Wood & Robinson.

Burns
Sibley
Crawley
Root
Pope
Buttler
Woakes
Bess
Curran/Archer/Wood/Robinson
Broad
Anderson

...and then Foakes for Buttler on day 3 :cautious:

Jos Buttler will hereby get a pass from me in this game for his batting following his behaviour in the first test.

On hearing the stat about him never taking a stumping in a test match, and because of his behaviour in the first test with the gloves I will continue to berate the bollocks off of him when he fails to take a ball cleanly behind the stumps.

It's a difficult one, isn't it. England's top scorer in the last game, but a bad keeping performance. We wouldn't have won the game without him, but we wouldn't have been so close to losing it without him.

Indeed but as you know Arnie my issues with his keeping go a lot further back than the last game. We are a bit hamstrung though at the moment so his place I guess is not even in question anymore. Likely Foakes will get a gig when we get over to the subcontinent like last time.

I agree to an extent, but I thought Wood would (woodward) have come in. They obviously think it's going to hoop.
Rare at the Ageas Bowl, it might but Curran offers control where as Jofra can offer you wickets at the trade off for runs (since the winter anyway) Probably also to add someone who can bat a bit in case the top order fail again. That is a long tail, if you include Broad.

I thought they'd go for Wood to keep the option of pace.
See my response to Bear.

Off topic but open to anyone with a view - interesting to see if Overton is brought back into the fold after his move at the end of the current season to Surrey.
