Well yeah we still desperately need a striker, but if he can be a genius midfield maestro role and set them up for Leandro/Dzagoev/Remy/Messi then I won't mind if he doesn't net a single time himself!

We've already replaced Modric's meagre goal tally.

2011/12 season:

Modric 5 goals
Vertonghen 10 goals

Take 1 out and add another 2.......Good night!!#putthatinyourpipeandsmokeit

Trying to get the bottom of this er.. 'elsewhere'... [the other thread] and supposedly, AVB has said Defoe ain't to go and Sherwood has said Kane stays this year.
My latest contribution was Adebayor out, which for me, would be a controversial and unpopular decision.

Confusing

edit: now we're back to Defoe out... £10m good money if true, although depending on replacements, I thought he might be useful to keep around, and i'm surprised at myself for thinking this. Maybe our 3 midfielders and 2 wide men can serve it up for him...

Don't want/like Carvalho, just not a nice bloke (in the Pepe scumbag mould) and cannot understand having him, he is a wily defender yes but also quite slow and limited in possession (think a cannier Dawson but with his best years behind him) In having him, Vertonghen and Kaboul, it's all very well having three players who appear 1st choice, but in practice it's much harder to keep those players happy for any extended period of time.

I thought carvalho's two year contract with Madrid ended this summer, meaning he wouldn't be part of any deal. Must gave signed an extension that I didn't hear about.....

JJ said to someone earlier that Ade was close so must be Defoe or Kane

I don't think he'll expect, or get, too many games unless we have a CB injury crisis to end all CB injury crises.

He had a clause in his contract to add another season for playing a certain amount of matches.

Truth is, Madrid want him out as he's behind Ramos, Pepe, Albiol and Varane and trying to offload him here. id be very surprised if he were to come as he is way past his best. They should pay us to take him!

Then you'd have to assume that RM will be paying most of his wages, as to bring in someone like that to not be a regular seems rather odd, and does he actually have (or has he ever had) any ties with AVB?

If he is a makeweight in the Modric deal then what price would we put him at?

I might be reading too much into this, but doesn't that hashtag (putthatinyourpipeandsmokeit) look a little bit out of context?

It's also strikingly similar to one of JJ's tweets from last week:

The original JJetset@jetsetyid
@etchedchaos Smoking Pipes! dream

which was in response to:

Garry Drury@etchedchaos
@jetsetyid Will do. So Higuain eh? Pipedream?

see where I'm going with this.....?

Progress in motion. Hold caution on the responses and getting too excited but this move is underway.

That's plain English? :D
Compared to fucking 'blue & yellow' it is. In fact, it's almost shakespearian.
