Blanc himself said he could sign for a new club team DURING the euros, so I don't think the delay in finding a replacement would mean we were definitely after him.

He might have said that before the tournament started. But I suspect he is a bit too wise and respectful to actually announce that he has/is interested in a new job whilst at such a crucial stage of his current one. We know very well how teams collapse when they think their manager is on the way out/not fully committed...

the latest bit by jacob is reassuring. the vague comment earlier from him didn't do much for me. he said essentially the same last summer and we ended up with f all.

Guardiola turned down Chelsea and Liverpool flat. There is absolutely no way he would go to Spurs. There is nothing uniquely different or special about Spurs that make them stand out from the other teams that have approached him that would make him cancel his sabbatical for them when he wouldn't for the other teams. Anything Spurs can offer him so can the other teams, plus a lot more money.

Sorry to bring some realism to all the wishful thinking but you're just going to disappoint yourselves. It was the same claptrap from the Liverpool fans a few weeks ago too.

He will go to utd or Chelsea next year I guarantee it.

Sorry there is and it the same reason he turned down major clubs, pep is a strange man and he does want to go to a club with the right fit and good young players looking to build for the future, everyone close keep saying he will only to go to a club with the right philosophy and etc.

His next club has to be a club that believes in a project, that plays good football and allow him to stamp his philosophy on to the club whilst allowing him to develop youth. Chelsea wouldn't allow him to build

For the same reason Ancelotti, Scoalri, Mourinho, AVB and RDM were. They are one of the few teams geniunely able to compete at the top of the table with City and Utd and have genuine aspirations of winning the Champions League.

No top manager would care about Chavs record of sacked Managers as if they are worth their salt they will have no doubt in their ability to suceed, therefore will have no worries of failing and getting the sack.

Real madrid have a much worse record for sacking Managers but it doesn't stop the like of Mourinho and other top top Managers continually taking that job.

I know Chavs are a vile club but lets not be revisionist and make out their not one of the most attractive clubs in Football to manage.

They may be a very attractive club but Pep is all about the right fit and what he thinks would make him happy and he does not like the way they play that is why he has rejected major clubs in the past like Man Utd, Inter Milan and etc as a player for obscure clubs, Pep will end up in England however I think the timing of our move is wrong and will end up at Arsenal

Yes your post are adding a sense of realism but there is alot football fans don't know about football in other countries and Pep is a person that many people in this country don't know about, he was ready to leave Barcelona the season before and not even one club made a approach except maybe chelsea but he would of rejected it if it did come, Apparently he was expecting a approach from Inter but they didn't make one despite him wanting to go back to italy to prove them wrong

Can someone educate me on one point. If joe Lewis decided that he wanted to put in a lot of money to the Club , could he do it via a sponsorship deal at a ridiculously high rate (e.g. name the ground the ENIC Stadium or put ENIC on the shirts ) and still comply with FFP - does FFP cover the potential loophole of owners also being sponsors?

he owns 40% approx of Puma, we switched to Underarmour as the offered more and the fact that if Puma was still sponsor it may fall foul of Uefa fair play regulations

Chelsea are the current European Champions and will be incontention for it again this coming season too. They have the chance to be the first ever team to win the trophy in back to back years too. They also have unlimited finances for players and can attract the very best players in the world as signing Hazard demonstration. They are the only team in the long term who can actually compete with City (FFP will not be enforced and they know it. UEFA neeed them more than they need UEFA).

I hate the Chavs with all my being but you can't say that all that isn't attractive. If you do you are either a little insane or a liar. Lets get real.

Spurs (and said the same to LFC fans) aren't even in the champs league and at the moment its hard to see how the likes of them, Liverpool, Newcastle etc will break into the top 4 when you look at the resources the current top 4 have available and the signings that have already been made by them this early in the transfer window. The weakest link is Arsenal but they have finally shown the intention to spend big and well so far and if this continues and they keep RVP they will defo stay in the top 4 imo.

This next Manager appointment could make or break Spurs. They need to find someone who can be shrewd and very clever and can make the best of what resources they have and get the very best possible out of their players as this is the only way to compete with and beat clubs who have more money and more appeal. Thats how Benitez was able to keep Liverpool in competition with the likes of Utd and Chavs when he had no right to given the difference in money available for transfers and wages between those 3 clubs. Spurs need a Mnager like that, with those abilities to get that extra 10% out of everyone and find the best players before they are on the world stage.

Hate to piss on your chips here but we have been a top 4 side 2 out of the last 3 seasons and you think we will struggle to 'break into it'?

It really grinds my gears how people like yourself are so quick to dismiss our credentials and attraction for a top manager. IMO we are a bigger draw for the likes of PG than just about anyone in Europe. The club philosophy and vision, as a whole, resonates more with the desire that PG has stated. The infrastructure already in place, and the further planned development of both the property and player ethos, can only be an exciting draw to any manager who wants to be an instrumental part of that kind of growth, which Pep has alluded to.

I am, quite frankly, sick to the back teeth of this 'we're not worthy' attitude that claims us knuckling our forehead to Footballing royalty is a 'realistic' outlook. Is it bollocks! It is a total lack of aspiration that doesn't fit with the clubs creed. Thank God the club don't buy into that self defeating bullshit. Thank God they've also stepped out of the very Western mindset of short term planning.

There isn't a single club in England, and I'm hard pressed to think of one in Europe, that has to offer what we do, in terms of evolution.

If this is Pep's motivation then it's easier to envision a yes than a no.

By big things I reckon Jacob means we are signing big Sam, big Martin Jol and a few other big things. It makes sense with the "hold on tight".

FFP sttes that all sponsorship deals must be commensurate value for money.

There was talk Shitty's Etihad deal might not be but £40m/year seems to be fine or them.
