Can’t disagree with the need for a creative mid. Can’t rely on GLC all season and hope TN comes go. No point having a front line like ours if we can’t get the damn ball to them. Hope DL and team pull something out the hat.
Totally - that’s spot on and it’s comforting to hear that the club is in agreement and willing to address the shortcomings. Fingers crossed we get the right level of striker and the creative midfielder in before the window closes as that would equate to a fantastic window.

Ings had a shocking injury record at Liverpool. Don't think 45-50m is a risk worth taking when there are such good options elsewhere and other gaps that need filling.

People are underrating Ings, led the league in non-penalty goals last season playing for a pretty poor Southampton team. He also has to have the best striker work rate in the league.

I’d be a bit worried about his age and injury history but he’s a hell of a player and I think could easily partner with Kane. Absolutely put Toby through the ringer last season.

I think a new CF and CB are far more pressing needs than a creative mid.

Liverpool didn't really have a creative mid last season, they had 3 workhorses in midfield and there remit was to win the ball and get it to there three fantastic forwards.
In Trent and Robertson they had the width, pace and thrust and I think we will be similar this season.
Yes of course we will be reliant on GLC but we also have N'Dombele who if he can get his head right will be assisting a lot of goals this season.

We would all love another Eriksen type but for me we have other priorities.

Dragon:

As I mentioned we passed on Ramsey this week due to finances but the board now feel we are light in midfield and. Are open to bringing someone in

we can debate Tanguy all day but he is staying due to the fact no one will pay anywhere near what he paid so everyone involved ie jose , dL , tn that we should try and make a go of it but can
he last 90 mins and play 3 times a week , who knows , so the post is accurate , we are a glc inj from disaster
those saying ings won’t come are wrong , we pay the 45-50 he comes

Really interesting ITK, when he says light in midfield we have a ton of midfielders, I assume they mean just not of good enough quality. For that I concur and am glad it seems the board do.

He’s a very good player but with his age, injury record and the price Saints would demand surely there are player who would be more sensible from a business perspective.

I think its more the wrong midfielders. We need someone who can thread a pass forward. We have plenty who can go sideways.

Maybe Ings is seen as the best / most attainable home-grown striker available at the moment. Non-HG spots are at a premium and ultimately there might be none available for a new ST depending on other ins / outs over the next few weeks.

I think it’s a recognition of how reliant we are on Ndombele and Lo Celso, neither of whom are a paragon of health or fitness.

I agree - I think I’d prefer someone who gives us a different type of option (whether that be more pace or physicality). Excellent player but not sure he QUITE fits the MO at the prices touted

I am in the minority, but would like Ings very much. But I do agree that 45/50 mil is a lot and begrudge paying that for him.
However, I do see him as a different option to what we have already. Kane. He is a quicker and more busy player (like a vardy).

whereas Kane is a complete forward and can do a bit of everything. Target man included.

Would rather spend the money needed for Ings on a different striker and a more creative midfielder, I feel that'll be more beneficial for the sqaud

It’s not your money. Levy needs to keep him indoors happy and if he needs Ings so be it.
