He can pass the ball quickly forwards. Something we've not been able to do since Modric/Carrick.

So can Sandro, Capoue, Bentaleb and Holtby.

Whenever I've watched him play I've seen as many sideways or backwards passes as most of our lot.

He's good but no Modric.

Sandro?

Definitely not.

Edit: IMO, Bentaleb isn't good enough to start for us yet and I don't see Holtby starting as a CM- I think he's better in a 3 behind the striker. Schneiderlin would probably partner Capoue so it's not a case of choosing between the two...

I am going to go out on a limb, and suggest that Pochettino has not seen what he is looking for from any of those players on our squad.

It might be that Pochettino does not know what he is doing, but the evidence suggests otherwise.

sandro and holtby, to a lesser extent, pass sloppily and bentaleb and paulinho can't actually tackle. Caps has good balance of skills but seemingly is also easily injured.

I like bentaleb but he's not physical enough to bat off the likes of kouyate or Diane let alone toure, he needs more fire in his belly not just gym time.

I will say this, if Soton really is making offers for Townsend, while stonewalling on Schneiderlin, Krueger has balls bigger than LVGs.

I think it's a ploy for them to actually get a player out of selling us Schneiderlin. I have no doubt they'd like to have him as the option on the right to play opposite of Tadic. It'd allow them to drop JWP a little bit deeper into midfield and put Davis on the bench (really where he belongs).

It comes down to if we think we can cope without a player like Townsend and if it's worth it to sell him as a means to an end to land Schneiderlin. I'm okay with it as long as we bring in another player for the LWF position to challenge Chadli (and I'm still hoping we sell Lennon regardless of what we do with Townsend).

suspect we've offered them one or two in part ex for Schn, but they're putting it out there that they're only interested in Andros. Such a deal could give Krueger a way out after his Bertie big bollocks statements.
