Premier league elite clubs are wising up to Europe now. Betis are ‘almost’ in a financial mess, caused by themselves. We had a very firm agreement. And for the second time they reneged on their own agreement, and for the second time mind. We had an agreement before we signed TN. We refused to deal after they started to play games with invisible clubs, who were never interested. We decided to pursue and finalise ND, and GLC should of been done first with ND, not long thereafter.

Our offer has not changed, and it is actually close to ND, but not the same. Our offer will not change. And Trix gave gave a brilliant illustration on what happens if we bend. Medical was booked etc. Let them come back with their tail between their legs, because there is ZERO interest at they imaginative price. Not withstanding how they got Fekir for the price they got him. I wonder who assisted on that deal. The last two windows they messed us around with VJ. I will let this out the bag deliberately! A very interesting volatile meeting with Betis me thinks on Tuesday.

I am very confident. And it goes for Sess. We are not giving away Josh, and the other player of ours that they are interested in. And still wanting circa 30m for Sess, along with that. Let’s see if the media pick that up, and my phantom ghost on Twatter (arsehole).

ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR ITK's

I sometimes wonder whether Herc and Poch are one and the same. There are some very endearing similarities! ;)

Firstly big club mentality = pay whatever it takes???

Well let's look at that shall we and use GLC as a test subject.

We agree a fee everything's set, medical planned, etc. Then Betis decide to raise the price by 10%. Well we're a big club now with a big club mentality so Levy gets on the blower and says "no problem. Sod the budget, or that we need other players too. We're a big club now so here is your extra 5mil."

The Betis chairman is delighted, and says "wow you are a big club, perhaps you'll pay another 5mil on top of that?"

Then the Fulham chairman see's were now a a "big club" and decides to double the price for Sess, because hey big clubs just pay what it takes to get deals done, right?

Lol, don't forget however "big" we might get as long as Levy's in charge we'll always be well run as far as the financials are concerned.

I never understand how people don't understand this? It's like they have no real experience of how business works in the real world. As always appreciate the info and insight.

Can moaners now shut the fuck up about Levy. It’s crystal clear Betis are pissing about. I suggest we all cup Hercules’ nads for the next 11 days in a show of fraternal solidarity
Maybe he could teabag you; then you can keep a very caring close eye ? ?

Wonderful insight from Trix and Hercules.

I certainly trust Levy as a negotiator, he has a track record in getting good prices for players we want to sell and getting clubs to come down from initial high valuations.

However, the club seems to be very adverse to settling for plan B’s if the desired option doesn’t come off. If the strategy is to rigidly stick to a price on your first option, you have to have the willingness and ability to move to second option if the first doesn’t come off, otherwise your strategy is extremely high risk.

In football transfers, you either get the player or you don’t. There’s no prizes for negotiating hard and earnestly. If that’s the stance the club feels it needs to take, then they should also be more willing and active in pursuing back up options. We’ve been left short far too many times by a full window of brinksmanship that fails at the last minute.

I still feel confident that Lo Celso and Sessengnon will come off based on the fact that Betis do need to sell and Fulham are in the Championship and Sess is going into the final year of his contract. But it concerns me that the club often makes the same mistakes without learning from them.

I’ve historically not been Levy’s biggest fan but I can completely understand why we would take GLC and Sess down to the wire. Betis showed their hand when they bought Fekir, he is GLC’s replacement, no way a club of their size can buy him without selling, in fact no way they can ultimately turn down more than 45m for any of their players. Sess has a year left on his contract and definitely isn’t signing a new one, Fulham don’t have the balls to take it to the wire.

I’m pretty convinced we will get both both players and while it is frustrating they will need time to come up to speed neither would have been able to start pre-season for differing reasons so not much lost in the delay either. I’m usually agitated but I’m chilled, join me. COYS

These comments always astound me... Hmm... how do you make more money from a football club? Success.... do you think DL and JL don’t realise this?
That's one way...but to do that you have to invest which takes away from profit. Another way to go about it is to milk the cash cow while your investment is next to nothing...ala Arsenal over the last decade. They have a devoted and deluded fanbase (good combination if you're to employ this strategy) which only requires investing enough to keep the supporters interested. I don't think that's what Levy and Lewis have in mind but it is naive to think the only way to make money is to throw money at it.
