Talked to my friend today He told me that Moyes wouldn't get the Job because he wanted full control over the team. He did say that he interviewed Blanc but think that Daniel has made up ho mind to go with AVB.
He wants to go back to having a DOF at White Heart Lane

i've no idea what the latest is and whether he'll be our next manager or not what i do know is that early talks werent good avb made all sorts of crazy demands which levy didnt like really not sure their egoes are well suited would much prefer larry white and pretty sure he'll be our number 1 target if gettable

And that was pretty much it for the ITK. However, our final visit to SC's archives this week found us in Tesco.

I was in Tesco yesterday morning and spotted Daniel Levy at the checkout. I couldn't help but evesdrop as he honed his technique..............

Checkout Girl: That'll be £156 exactly, do you have a clubcard

DL: Well i've got this.....(Waves a Spurs Chop staff discount card under the girls nose)

Checkout Girl: I'm sorry sir, we don't accept those

DL: How can I pay?

Checkout Girl: Well sir, you can pay by cash or by using your debit or credit card

DL: No no no, I mean can I put half down now, a quarter in a years time and the final instalment after i've made 10 more appearances in this store?

Checkout Girl: Sorry sir?

DL: Tell you what.........I'll give you £90 now in one payment and £30 in 6 months time

Checkout Girl: That only comes to £120 sir. I need £156 in full and i'm afraid you have to pay it now, before you leave the store

DL: I see, playing hardball are we?

Checkout Girl: No sir, i'm just doing my job, now could you please pay the bill sir? There are other customers waiting behind you

DL: Customers my arse, at least two of them are licensed agents hoping to make a few clubcard points on the deal......OK what time do you close?

Checkout Girl: 7pm sir

DL: I'll be back to do a deal at 5 to seven...........

The info above about AVB's demands matches info I was privvy too when AVB was linked with Liverpool from the LFC version of JJ. He told me that the reason Liverpool's talks broke down with AVB was because he made unrealisitic demands. He would only tell me one of them which was that he wanted a guaranteed contract for either 3 or 5 (Can't remember which sorry) where he was unable to be sacked unless he done soomething that constituted gross misconduct or negligence which in footy is more or less impossible to do.

This plus the other deal breaker was something that Ayre took back to FSG after secondary talks that when Henry found out about he decided Rodgers was the man to go for. Trying desperately to find out what it was but it seems really sensitive and the few people who know aren't spilling.

I also know that AVB was very stroppy while speaking to us about being interested in martinez and Rodgers too and made this known. The man has an attitude problem it is starting to look like.

Somewhat annoying/disturbing to have this played out in the media - we're looking like 'Pool now. Only difference is that we sacked our best manager for two decades...

Funny though that 'AVB done' goes pretty much to 'talks broken down' in 24h, but I guess some ITKs - while privy to info - have concluded a bit too much and too fast. At least we can pretty much be certain we've spoken to a few, and from the sounds of it at lengths with AVB. Don't blame the club for taking a bit of time on this quite important issue, but the sooner it's sorted I can relax a bit again!

Won the PL 3 times and the CL twice with Spurs on football manager, and I won't have the same demands as AVB, I'm even younger than him, just 3-4 million per year will do... Who the F*** does he think he is?? He was manager of Porto and did well but who the fuck are Porto?? They got knocked out of the CL group stages by APOEL FC ffs!!! Just cause Abramovich was an idiot and gave him millions of pounds to flop at Chelsea don't mean he is the best manager around! I was up for giving him a chance, but he should be kissing our arses for giving him another shot not having extreme demands! He needs to realise this is THFC!! A club WAY BIGGER than both Porto and Chelsea!!

if anything, that Guardian piece is probably just the agent putting a bit of pressure on Levy

Great talent often comes with an air of arrogance and eccentricity, hence you should not reject it out of hand. It is purely a matter of judgement on Levy's part, determining to what degree it is palatable and assessing if indeed he does posses this precocious talent.

What we can say is that his drive, commitment and studious approach can not be called into question, attributes Harry had a limited degree of. If AVB can bring half of the strong attributes that he did have, then we have taken a big step forward - should Levy conclude he is an acceptable risk.

Blanc - until I uncover evidence of him being able to communicate acceptably in English, namely a video, he is not even worth consideration. Levy won't make that mistake again.
