I have come round to the idea that Modric would leave for sometime. He didn't have the best season and we will get good money. Yes he will be hard to replace but I don't think he would be as hard as Bale/Kaboul/Walker. As some have mentioned, Moutinho would be a great replacement but probably too expensive unless we are going to reinvest a large amount of the Modric money on a replacement, or will it be used to fund other deals?

JJ, you mentioned Lewis a few days ago and low and behold all of a sudden he seems to be more actively involved in the machinations. Can you shed any light on whether we are in negotiations to be sold ?

The way I see it is that Modders off, a new management team in place and some of the deadwood gone too and what I've heard, I'm going to make a call.

We'll spend approx 40-60m on new players
GK -? Lloris or Stekelenberg
CB - Vertonghen 11m One of the best signings this summer no matter who else we sign.
Back up left back (maybe) Fryers
CM - ? 10-15m Jovetic or Dembele would be my choices
CF x 2 (deffo) 30m Yilmaz (7Million) Ade(Permanent) and Remy/Huntelaar (17-20mil)
That's 45m for the quality needed and looked at

Tbh I wouldn't touch RVP, Robben, Sneijder or KJH after watching Holland. VdV at least looked like he wanted to win. Those four were terrible. Funny how some players who have amazing seasons can just fail at international tournaments. I thought Ronaldo was going that way after several easy chances missed in the first two games, now he is going to be hard to stop, I think the whole messi chant has really pissed him off in a bad way for England if we did play them and any other team who has to play them.

i also feel we would need a player to back up lennon and bale (hoping he stays) if they get injured and that czech player looked really good Pilar his name is i think and also the guy with the logn hair and goatee was impressive

definitely i feel we need strong cover in the LM or RM area in case bale or lennon get injured .(cant see dos santos staying). a pacey player would do well .. wouldnt mind if we go back in for Krasic (if he regains form he is a top top player)

Pilars has signed for some German team. Think it's Wolfsburg. Personally, I'd like us to sign Hoilett. Cheap, versatile and young. But there's been no ITK on him, so I'll stop talking about him now.

Pilar is off to Wolfsburg after the tourney unfortunately, joining Jiracek (the other guy you mention) there.

I like the idea of Jovetic but looks unlikey.
