Is Deeney deemed as a premier league striker still?
He is a striker who has caused problems in the prem so yes i guess he is to a degree... wouldnt mind the guy personally.... i like his fuck you attitude and he seems to be a "this is my tribe and ill give everything for em" type of character.

Diop is made to look worse in a struggling west ham team. Like Sanchez, he had a great first season, then failed to live up to his first season last year, but that was with a change of coach and in a team fighting relegation. Still young with a lot of potential. Only thing is, I don’t think skriniar would cost much more than diop, considering the prem prices, so its a bit weird if skriniar price may be too high.

I’m not saying he’s an amazing player, but he has room to grow to become very good, and oftentimes in a struggling team it’s easy for a player and group of individuals to look really poor. Was very highly rated at Toulouse, and west ham got him ahead of some big clubs. Only 23, so with room to improve, but like you, I wouldn’t see diop as our defensive savior. What worries me is the price he may go for, as inter-prem transfers are very expensive, don’t think skriniar would cost much more if at all, and I’d much rather him than diop.

Didn't someone say ValY mentioned Rodriguez, I guess that's the prem forward D1 is alluding too. Wolves seem to be happy to sell and replace this window.

Diop would be no better than what we have imo but maybe Jose sees something he can work with there. Seems a bit underwhelming after being linked with Dias and Skriniar.

Not really been impressed with Diop when we've played them. West Ham fan I know says he started off very well when he first moved to them but has gradually got worse. Who knows, at 23 he is still pretty young for a defender and playing in a struggling team. Maybe moving to a better team could help him develop his game and a year or two playing alongside Toby could bring his game on.

Seem to remember we were linked with him before he moved to West Ham. Remember Mourinho also praising him after his Utd team lost to them. Problem as usual buying off other EPL clubs is the fee.

I always thought Diop played on the right as a CH.

Which makes it well....less of a good fit imo.

Awww, @ValenciaYid is the reason I joined SC in the first place after he used to talk about it on BBC 606 forums.

This is like... at least 15 years ago, because I was a lurker on here for quite a while. I'm a massive ValY fanboy. Good to see him posting
I was lurking for a while, but it was the Allygold threads that drew me in, back in the day...

Great point. Which is why I think the likes of Nathan Ake may look excellent playing in a team of excellent players, versus looking good, amongst a team of fairly average players at Bournmouth. Like Wijnadalum looked decent at Newcastle, but when he joined Liverpool, he raised up another level. So, maybe Jose believes Diop can improve if surrounded by better players. But yeah, I agree that transfers between PL clubs can be tricky and sometimes very costly. Regargless, it's great to know from D1 that there are a variety of options in the hopper.

As his name was not out there (Diop) I did not mention his name here. But once out I had to jump on the confirmation stance. Not everything I put here folks

D1 on the money, so not challenging what he is saying. We are certainly trying for Skriniar. Josè wants him! Maybe the price they want may deter that happening. Not very hard to work out who the premier league CH is. Will not put his name here.
Good to see you backing Dragon Herc... I have loved his updates

That is very disappointing on the CB front. Not convinced Diop would be worth the kind of significant outlay West Ham would want nor enough of an upgrade on what we have.

Hopefully Jose can strong arm Levy into getting Skriniar.
