I'd take Boriello.

I'm that desperate.

Last week of July and just about to play our second pre- season game.

Fuck me.

Have we signed any strikers yet or are we planning on willing the ball into the net next season?

LOL, I felt the same way about Bryan Ruiz, glad we didn't get him now.

Regarding the notion of a 'done deal' one only has to refer to Vertonghen.

That was 'done' for weeks and it seemed obvious that it would go through, all the right noises were being made by himself, agents, ITKers, yet people started panicking when he started training again with Ajax.

I'd suspect re: Pienaar, terms are probably agreed with player and a fee with Everton who might have said 'Wait until we've got the Yobo/Cahill money and we'll conclude the next day...' We've said 'No problem, let us know...' and we're sitting in limbo waiting for something that's certain to happen, to happen.

Who seriously thinks he's not going and not going to Everton? If so, why's he not on tour? He wants to go back to Everton. Him and Modric are notionally fulfilling their contracts (or at least Modric is now) in advance of securing moves away.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck

I'm with Akqayid. I reckon he's long gone.

then a similar argument can be made about Adebayor too! BUT, transfers can break down easily so we just have to wait and see!!!

I was about to post that, I don't think JJ would have said "no comment" if there was no interest tbh.

I don't disagree. The major thing that separates certainty in the Adebayor deal from that in the Pienaar deal is the rumbling about wages. We know that our chairman won't go stupid on wages and we know Ade wants as much as he can get. It could be a longer impasse, but realistically, without any other viable options coming forward, you'd have to say that a compromise is most likely to be found and Ade will arrive.
He's hardly gonna sit in Man City's youth team for a year, and it's similarly unlikely that he's gonna roll up at Anzhi or whatever.
Again, it suits all parties to find resolution and when that's the case, it generally means that it will happen.

Hmm yeah didn't really think all this through did I.

Here's the post

To clarify, he's not a CB he's a CM. I asked my pal a bit more about him - left-footed attack-minded midfielder (though Brighton were far superior so this could just have been a result of the difference in quality that he was attacking more), supposedly looked good in a 45 minute cameo but against non-league opposition. Wary that he might be lightweight for Championship level. He last played for Le Havre but my mate doesn't know if he has been released, he's out of contract or he's just been allowed to trial at bigger clubs.

This is him:

Ah shit we're buying a GDS lookalike. I hope we don't sign him and then accidently sell him instead of Gio.

I'm sure he's going, and almost certain he's going back to Everton; does that qualify me as ITK? Does it qualify you and every other bugger on SC as ITK too?

Once an ITK announces 'done deal' he's putting his credibility on the line. This deal is clearly not done.

Any truth in the Willian stories (Daily Fail). Would like to see him has bags of potential.

Can we just step over the "bags of potential" players out their and just buy one finished article, or am i being just too realistic?

  • JJ is usually quick to pooh-pooh any links that aren't true, so this one could have legs.

He got burned by the World Class comment. I imagine that anything from a talk between AVB and Levy about him to an actual bid would be about the same for JJ at the moment. So I wouldn't read too much into it. I'd respect his reserved answer for what it is for the time being.
