Highwayman = Railwaymen = Crewe = Nick Powell. 15 goals or summat this season as a midfielder and at age 18 he's looking like a real prospect. Might be reaching a bit on the cryptic though, but certainly a player to have a look at.

Robben fits the cryptic pretty well but not really our business model!

I would think the cryptic likely refers to one of the de Jong boys. That most likely fits the whole future window possibility and are Dutch.

hmm, I was poking around and the highwayman in the poem is possibly Robin Hood and Noyes later wrote a play about him...Robben also means "to rob" in Middle English. Couldn't be, could it?

I looked for his wage info and saw a few different figures: €75K, €105, or €150K a week at Bayern, at least before his contract extension. Bayern don't sell cheap either (especially after the extension)...remember the Hargreaves saga? and why would he come to us? It'd make a statement and be pretty nice, for sure, but I'm not sure Levy would sanction ~£25M for an injury-prone 28+ year old, even if we could make the wages work and he would come.

hoeness was making some comments last night about how they may have to evaluate whether Robben stays at bayern. he apparently signed a new deal until 2015 a few weeks ago. I doubt we can get anywhere near his wages think hes on something like 125k euros a week

Not bad at all, but he stated that it was one for the future and at 28, it would seem that wouldn't apply him. Just a note....I cannot believe Robben is only 28. I thought he was in his early 30's

He said it was one for future windows rather than saying the player was a prospect for the future didn't he though? as in Robben would be more attainable in future windows perhaps

I dont see the point of the crytpic if there is no chance that revealing who the player is is going to scupper any potential deal we are working on.
