Cryptic about a signing that we arent even going t make this window?
I dont see the point of the crytpic if there is no chance that revealing who the player is is going to scupper any potential deal we are working on.

Then you need to look deeper. Storts says Maybe not this window, but a clear favourite of ours in the future. Maybe isn't 'not' so it's very possible that we might be going in right now but are half expecting a rebuff in which case we're that keen that we'll go back again.

Which generally means the player will have featured more for his side, improved, gathered a few more fans and will cost a bit more money.
We'll be beaten to the punch. Harry will be out saying we could have had him last year for 2p but we felt at the time he wasnt right for us, or the chairman thought the deal was too expensive for us.
Said player will then be worth £100m, become the greatest thing since Sky+ and we'll be left cursing what might have been.
