I'm convinced we'll spend this window.

A) incentives to keep Bale
B) AVB having a good first season
C) new tv deal giving us more money
D) new managers in 3/5 top 5 clubs might give us a chance to push
E) I'm a hopeless optimist

Next monday we could have a squad containing Coentrao and Solado or one with neither and be minus a bale. It's Tottenham, you just never know.....

This is my concern...... Levy will be seen to spend money bringing players in, then sell Bale on the last day of the window.
Will then claim that he invested in the squad, but also needed to balance the books.

Obviously I hope this is just my imagination and won't become reality.

If Real Madrid don't pay us the money in full do we get to send the goons (i.e. Sandro and Kaboul) round to repossess ratboy?

i think you are right. I am beginning to think Bale is holding back on signing a new deal until we have given him a new striker to play with

Levy would realise that doing that would cause a large percentage of the current squad to want to leave.

Fastforward to last day in August. The crowning turd in the toilet bowl.

By way of easel outside WHL, the announcement that Bale has signed a new contract.

I don't believe for one second Bale wants to leave - ESPECIALLY to go abroad. This is all being stirred up by his agent that wants a slightly larger 20%.

SSN had a journo on yesterday morning and he was indeed adamant that Bale has no interest at all in moving abroad at the moment. In fact he said he was 100% certain he wouldn't join Real.

Also he's keeping the only hairdressers in tottenham in business.

Like him as a person and can be a good player, but is also frustrating. Can we afford frustrating players if we want to challenge for trophies?

You have a point..I just love the man, but if we can upgrade him, i would understand that :)

Relax the deals still on for soldado. I would expect an announcement today (gut feeling). Very humorous that they will sign postiga.

I have not seen the itk on coentrao but I will back it up. We havd a choice of players from real madrid. Coentrao, higuain, morata (as a loan)

The deal.is to offset the modric money nothing to do with bale. I have been banging on about this since last year. We sold modders on a ridiculously cheap deal stupidly cheap. Real will give us a player on the cheap to offset the money.

the special relationship is to do with bale also but it just gives them first option if we choose to sell.

Wouldn't have minded Higuain, even if a loan.

Agree, BUT - once window has slammed shut none of them can leave.... until January

I think we've seen how a positive camp can have a good effect. It would be absolutely suicidal in both football and business terms for that to be even contemplated.

Same guy was on Talksport last night, (his name escapes me at the mo) saying exactly the same thing, he won`t be going abroad because of family reasons.

Great minds think alike and all that. :)

Madrid recently made a small payment so I think it is down to 12.million owed now for modders.

We are gonna get our man then....(y)

Move BAE to free up some money as well for Ljajic.

Why are we even having the Bale conversation?

There is precisely NOTHING reliable suggesting he'd go, in fact the opposite is true. People need to stop believing the Sky Sports and tabloid rumour mill.

I firmly believe Coentrao as a separate deal is very much possible

First of all, player no more wants to be play for RM -as he feels he is not getting full support there and he said that in May.
Madrid wants to recoup the money spent on him and Perez has demanded nearly 20m euros when PSG came for him. They have not come back after that.
In fact he initially didn't train with squad for Lyon friendly and was not in the game though he travelled there.

He is clearly is on the out list of RM.

With no firm offer coming in, if we go with a reasonable offer, we could get him.

Can't see him being employed very long then. No one will pay him to say Bale's staying, is not the news they want to report.
