Maybe teams are finally getting desperate and we are getting some enticing offers for our extra players.

I definitely think we will bring in 1 or 2 more in (in addition to Fazio).

Just going by what ITK has said...strap yourself in, loads happening etc etc

Of course loads of potential stuff doens't always come off but we shall see.

There will be some outgoings though - at the very least in the capacity of loans, regardless if we get MS in or not.

Surely everyone knows the pattern by now?

A few excitable 'wheels are in motion', 'loosening the purse strings' 'strap yourself in' type posts about a week before deadline day

JJ pops in a day or two later and says nothing much is happening (he's already said we wouldn't do any business in the last week).

The window fizzles out to nothing.

Anyway - Poch is the signing of the summer and my remaining wish for the window is that Sandro says. I couldn't cope with losing both him and Dawson.

Our squad is currently at 28 overage players, so we need to shift 4 just to make room for Fazio, let alone any more.

JJ never said that IIRC- I think you're imagining some of this ITK mate. I think he said we never deliberately try to do things late on and he said that Deadline Day is a nightmare. And you forgot the part where we actually are doing transfers in the last week- hence we are signing Fazio with 5 days to go...

I don't know why some people think that Dembele will be sold . Didn't we have some ITK saying he's been excellent in training? He hasn't disgraced himself on his 2 appearances so far either. I think Paulinho, Holtby & Sandro are all more likely to be shown the door than Moussa.
If this were a pure footballing decision, I would agree, but I think we are at the point where its not just who you want to sell, but who can you sell that factors into the decisions. Not the only factor, but I think Pochettino has a preferred XI, and anyone not on that list could be sold if necessary, and the right price came in.

Don't sell soldado :(

I wonder if the sales of the beast and soldado will affect lamela mentally?
Why the wtf ratings? Have you not noticed that those three are like best buddies in the dressing room and both soldado and Sandro are key figures in helping lamela settle in

Probably because there is no ITK on Sandro being sold (at least not yet, and not that I'm aware of). And this is the ITK thread. ;)

PS. WTF ratings aren't all that bad, so don't worry about it too much.

What about Trix's ITK saying that Sandro isn't in Poch's plans and is probably off?

What about it? Show me where Trix says (verbatim) Sandro is being sold. "Not in Poch's plans" does not imply there is a sale in progress, does it?

PS. Trix said something to the tune of "BAE, Daws, and Sandro aren't in Poch's plans". There was no further information IIRC. There was no "probably off". That part is your fiction.

Lets not be so harsh here - the gist of the original comment had to do with Soldado - and his relationship with Lamela (Sandro was just added as part of that grouping).

I happen to agree, that from outward appearances - all the social media photos with Lamela and Soldado, it looks like Soldado has been helping Lamela settle here - almost like a big brother. I'd hate to see anything derail Lamela's resurgence this season. Not saying it would, but I thought it was a valid observation, that included the ITK about Soldado.

It's under the subtitle "Outgoings".

And anyway you are meant to discuss the ITK- hence it's called the Daily ITK Discussion Thread- nothing is ever certain- we're still allowed to discuss the fact that Sandro could (and probably will IMO) be sold.

From what I've seen, you are trying to stop all discussion of Sandro being sold on the whole transfer forums.

Not the only factor, but I think Pochettino has a preferred XI, and anyone not on that list could be sold if necessary, and the right price came in.

That's an interesting hypothesis but I think Poch thinks beyond just the 1st XI. His first moves were to bring in a LB who is not a guaranteed 1st XI player and a reserve GK. He then brought in a promising 4th choice CB. This doesn't suggest a manager who is obsessing over his 1st XI but rather one who is trying to cover the obvious weaknesses in his squad.

I think he is prepared to work with any players who he thinks could fit into his system or who can add flexibility to his team depending on circumstances. It's easy to see how Dembele brings something different to the table; he is a hard man to dispossess and can disrupt defences by running with the ball. It's harder to see what Paulinho, Holtby or Sandro can do to change a game that other players in the squad cannot.

Paulinho's main asset is his ability to score from midfield but you sacrifice a lot for that in terms of workrate, defence, and passing. Even if you are chasing the game surely you would bring on another attacking player rather than Paulinho.

Holtby's problem is that he is never going to be picked ahead of Eriksen and it's questionable whether it is worth keeping him just to be a backup player in the cups.

Sandro is a ballwinning DM pure and simple and again there doesn't seem to be a place in Poch's system for such a one dimensional player.

I'm sure you are right in so far as if a crazy offer is made for any player then Levy will cash in, but unless that happens I think Poch will get his way and keep any players he sees a role for. The rest we will try to move on.

partly repeating what was already posted..
ali z:
My info is there is no deal close for Bobby, AY is right if we got what we wanted we would sell bur[but] we won't.
i don't think anyone will and so late in the window we would have to have a deal lined up b4 we agreed, Wellbeck and Remy would be considered as loans but think we would look abroad, club know Ade can turn off just as easily as he can turn up.

on (fantasy)suggestions we are in for falcao: Monaco owner's had enough. [enough of spending money i guess - ali is not suggesting we are getting falcao]

Monaco owner's just gone through a mega divorce. Has somewhat taken the shine off spending 60m on a footballer I believe.

Oscar faded quite a bit. I'm struggling to think of players though that literally barely had a break for two years. He had Serie A, Copa lib & state champs, Serie A, confeds cup, Prem league, World Cup then a mini break. He was definitely far more jaded second half of season compared to August & September '13 and that's not commenting on Corinthians & Confed time.
I wasn't aware of that and sounds like he needs a good rest. I don't think he should be sold as there is so much potential there.
