Morning all. Here's another thread for the discussion of ITK.

I tried to log on to my computer this morning but it wouldn't let me in.

I shouted to my wife, "Babe, have you changed the password on the PC?"

"Yes honey."

"What is it?"

"It's the date of our anniversary."

Bitch.

As for the ITK, well, it's been a bit thin on the ground recently and even then a bit of a let down, what with typogate, drunkengate and comprehendingatextgate. Luckily, a few of the old school are still posting, only the one snippet though, this from Jasper on SO..........
Jasper said:
It is believed we shall let the big financial guns like chelskum and citeh cite their targets whilst we work away competently. We remain confident on our extensive list of targets as talks progress secretly. Make of that what you will...
then followed by
It is honestly best that some things be kept confidential mate and allow the club to do what they need to do.
We're fast approaching the final furlong now, will we make signings? Will there be the usual flurry of activity on deadline day? I say deadline day but our seems to be deadline minutes, so expect Jim White on SSN to be bashing one out as he says 'Over to WHL for some breaking news' at roughly 11.58pm on deadline day...........

SpursIdol provided some sensible ideas last night on the Adebayor situation. Seems its his views, but I have always been of the opinion that SpursIdol knows much more than he is willing to share on here, and personnally take any information he shares very seriously.
Anyway, wee link here, http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/ind...itk-discussion-thread-25th-july.88754/page-11

Simply put, Adebayors situation with City now resembles that of Vertonghens with Ajax. Hopefully, we have agreed our end of the deal and its now up to City and Adebayor to agree theirs.

Since we all know there are glaring holes in our squad that need filling, and there has been very little talk surrounding us at the minute, I have wondered one of two things recently, firstly are our targets maybe in an Olympic squad (Leandro maybe...) and this is the obvious explanation for the lack of movement currently, however, I thought the same thing regarding the manager appointment, I believed the delay was down to the fact it was Blanc and we were waiting for the Euros to finish, so as you see my record of predictions is not great.
Or, secondly, AVB is still weighing up his squad before moving, and in the meantime the club have purposefully clamped down on all media leaks, so it is pretty much just guesswork in the public domain, even all the 'ITK' has been fairly vague.
If it is the case we're waiting, it's a little risky. Theoretically our winger situation is complex, because we have a few options, Bale, Lennon, GDS, Bentley Townsend & Falque, so may be waiting to see who steps up, but in terms of strikers there are no choices, we just need to sign someone, the right someone obviously. In reality Modric's situation is an issue too, in terms if replacing him and the cash it presents.

Probably more the latter. Chelsea have signed Oscar whilst he is at the Olympics and I would guess a large proportion of the players we are interested in are not at the Olympics anyway so I don't see that as a reason for any hold up.

It is probably a mixture of AVB looking at his squad (I'm sure we have some definite targets we want no matter what and some 'maybe's' depending on his assessment of the squad). I also think Jaspers ITK makes sense in that we are standing back, letting others do business and working quietly and steadily behind the scenes to get our deals in place. At least I hope that's the case.

We've already signed two new players, which for us at this stage is very rare. As with all things Levy at the moment, I've got total faith that we will have the team/squad/players that AVB wants by kick off. (y)

Funny thing is I dont want us to sign a higuain, benzema etc, I would just like a signing like Berba or Papiss Cisse that's not that expensive, new to the prem but has been doing the job. I would have liked Mandzukic or Lewandowski before the euros but their stock went too high (and mandzukic left obviously!). I feel their has to be some players out their and I think we would all feel much more comfortable if we got someone in to compete with Defoe and then go after the "big fish".

My mom is visiting in Dublin at the moment so I wouldn't expect any movement until next week at the earliest.

Put that shit in the RO.

Fernando Luiz Rosa or simply Fernandinho (meaning 'Little Fernando') was born May 4, 1985 in Londrina, Brazil and is a footballer who currently plays for Shakhtar Donetsk. He is well known for his blistering pace and ability to shoot from long distances.
He is described as a "a defensive midfielder with a box to box style of play, contributing in large part to the defense and the attack. With a powerful shot and great passing range, Fernandinho has played in important part in breaking up opposition attacks and creating goal scoring opportunities."

I love it when ITK'ers misspell the names of our supposed targets. We definitely WON'T get Ferdenhino 10/10... 'cos it ain't his freaking name. I'm more ITK than the cobra (in regards to this)... ;)
