gabrielle marcotti says avb has been scouting players around europe and in brazil for what ever club he takes over next.

in all seriousness unless we are appointing Pep guardiola, Joachim lowe, jurgen klopp it isnt worth making a change as all the other managers are unproven and would be taking a serious risk. sometimes what you know is better than the unkown.

Yes and no. I'd agree that in a perfect scenario if things are working then there isn't any point changing, the grass isn't always greener (in fact the majority of the time it proves not to be) but what if that isn't the case? If there has been a breakdown in the relationship between Levy and Harry, and I'm not suggesting there has because until now it is purely rumours, then something might have to change even if it is a risk. Just as there is no point having squad players that a manager doesn't trust to use, there is little point having a manager and a management system that the Chairman doesn't have faith in. Things won't work as effectively as possible if it isn't all moving in the right direction.

So whilst I think Harry has done a great job and from the outside I wouldn't change it, if the situation really isn't workable then we might have to make a change and you'd hope that at least to Levy whatever the change is going to be isn't going to be an 'unknown'.

I agree that change for the sake of change doesn't make any sense. If there is the chance to make a clear cut upgrade, that's one thing. But I'm not sure that any of the names that have seriously been linked (sorry Pep fans) are definitely better than Redknapp. But if Levy has lost confidence in Redknapp, or if he's just looking to have Redknapp finish out his contract with no real option of extending, I think that is untenable and Levy needs to be proactive in making the switch. I think it's completely reasonable to start this season with Redknapp knowing that he is managing for his job though.

We don't know if Levy feels that, and whether or not Redknapp feels like that is fair is a different part of the discussion. If that is what Levy wants and Redknapp thinks it's not fair, then he probably needs to go. But I do not think that Levy will be reactive on this subject.
