Internacional rejected our bid in january (£20m). Why would we get him now for £17m?!

I would love to see him in a Spurs-shirt but i´m afraid im not going to :(
His form since has been poor iirc, and Inter now want to cash in, whereas then they didn't.

'I was told last night he should be a Spurs player by the time England play Brazil.'

I think too many are assuming this says 'will'. Patience guys!

What's that? You said "will"? Ermaghad! I'm buying a shirt with his name on it now! I'm so happy! He's a Spurs player at last!

From what I have seen of Leandro he looks like Pav mkII

Also... Who the fuck is Bernard?

That's going to be our two new signings up front.....Bernie Winters and Schnorbitz. Schnorbitz can drop back into midfield if needed.

To me, I'd be happy if we could get Leandro for £15m. I worry about him hitting the ground running, so I suppose the sooner we sign him the better. By the way, Last year with Ade at ACN and Defoe injured, I would have been happy with a Pav mkII !!

Does anyone find it a tad odd that we might be able to buy a Brazil international (formerly 1st choice) striker, of a tender age of 22/23, who will inevitably improve, all for £12-15million...?

I'm not too sure that stacks up. I'd love to, I really would, but I can't get excited about this yet...not again.

Edit - I'm not in any way knocking ITK's here either...this stuff keeps me going all Summer (y)

I would have thought that was the going rate, or even less when buying players from the Brazilian league. Until last year all time Brazil transfer record was £22m. Neymar is the obvious exception now.

He can also dribble with the best of them :)

It's ok, I never even took my coat off!!!

And there has been no media link that anyone has posted yet either
There is a players thread on him, gives you more info and would be best if talk on him goes in there

Lack of ITK since yesterday afternoon. Pathetic effort.

But on the last bit of ITK...I hope that any loan for Carroll is to a Premiership team as if not there's no point. It might be that AVB thinks he's ready to be part of our first team squad, but if not he has to go to a team at a decent level.

Agree with this. I really have high hopes for this lad and don't want to lose him. Send him to a decent attractive PL team fine, if not keep him and play him a bit more this season.

I'd have agreed with your first point last year but things seem to have changed a bit (possibly, hopefully, maybe...)

The thing with Inter is they seem to have spent the last couple (seems like 10) of years talking him up, showing him off, then knocking back offers and generally being difficult when push came to shove.

Perhaps they've finally realised that for all the talking up they've done, ultimately nobody was willing to pay 20million or the best part of it up front, for a player who was unproven in a top league. Potential? Yes. Ability? Yes. A Gamble? Yes.

For me, somewhere nearer 12-15million seems a far better starting point, if he performs, they get some add ons/he gets some add ons. If he doesn't, then they will be left empty handed. Either way, a deal has to be struck which benefits all parties to some extent to make it happen and i think previously Inter were pushing their luck a bit...Not on DL's watch!
