Thanks for the info guys!

Herc is right that we can react accordingly at the close of the window, but good god we have a lot of work to do in the next 2-3 days. Here's hoping.

We lost over a third of our league games.

We went from being title contenders at Christmas to scraping top 4 by one point.

The games we did win in the second half of the season were lacklustre, where we were devoid of ideas and were lucky to scrape crappy 1-0s.

I accept that’s a better season that we’d have hoped for in the mid-90s, but it was atrocious compared to our last few seasons, which is what we should be comparing ourselves to.

You convince yourself we had a banging season if you want. It’s glaringly obvious that we did not.
Not going to continue this here, but where did I say or suggest banging season? Read and take from posts what you want - your entitlement, but terrible? Wish people would remain level headed.

It was pretty poor as was the football. Carry that into next season and forget top four. Poch knows this, it's why he wanted the team freshened up. Signing one player for the first team isn't that

That top 4 place you’re celebrating only happened because Arsenal lost 3 of their last 5 games (as did we).

One more victory for them and we’d be playing Europa. Our final league placing was literally in Arsenal’s hands ffs.

Given the way we’d played in the previous seasons, it’s not “entitled” to see that kind of capitulation as completely unacceptable.

Jesus, all went a bit turbo in here. Remain calm, what will be, will be. This will all be forgotten in 5 days time when we’ve beat Villa by 3 goals.

Cheers ITK,s

Love reading through this site every day. Mainly Blue backgrounds. (y)

Ndombele, sess and lo Celso would be a great window for me. The RB from Napoli looks very classy also (a long shot I know)

Gonna get myself banned. Been to every match at WHL and Wembley (except 5) since 1980. I know very well when the team is not playing well and we are struggling. I am desperate for new signings as much as all others on here, but ffs get a perspective. I am totally convinced that if Poch thought he could not achieve better things than he has done already or if there is something holding him back then he would be off.

Hopefully the ITK (protecting my own nads!), about GLC will move towards that.

It was banging and I’m celebrating?:LOL:

Edit - I think I disagreed with the term ‘terrible’ and suggested remaining level headed.

The jokes about me not sleeping and me being on here 24/7 aren’t actually jokes.

Random person on twitter:

JJ: It’s possible

Random person: Thanks pal ?? can’t wait till it’s over tbh ? roll on Saturday 5pm

JJ: It’s possible but we also have a few other options too - so agree wait till Thursday - keep your sanity and keep your perspective ?

Haven't posted in a while and will not specifically address this to anyone.

A little perspective though would be refreshing. At the beginning of the window, we were hearing Ndombele, LoCelso and Sessegnon. We have already signed one. Looks to have huge upside potential. The other two have just returned from their breaks and Sessegnon was/is nursing an injury. Both deals may already be done or may be close to done. Who knows. There is now added talk of Bruno Fernandez, so that is something else that may happen. Clarke, Etete and Solberg have been signed for the future. Clarke looks already to be pushing on. We have also seen some assured performances from Skipp, Tanganga, Parrott which all suggest we have more quality coverage than we thought. Also, we all know Daniel Levy is not beyond doing a deadline deal (Bale?, Dybala?)

So it is not all glum. If we make no further additions, I don't think we will have bettered the squad from last year although Ndombele may prove far more incisive than Dembele. That said, I don't see where we are worse off. Yes, Trippier is gone, but then he was not exactly one the fans seemed to want around. He himself admits last year was not stellar. I don't think he is quick enough or aware enough to cover his position when there are only two CB's.

Rose, Alderweirald and Eriksen may all go. Have the others teams really improved? United (who can pay double in salary what we can - supposedly offering Eriksen 290k/week) have added Maguire, Wan Bissaka and James. Surely that helps, but how much? City have added Rodri. Chelsea have brought in Pulisic and Kovacic. Did Kovacic make a difference last year? Another new Manager and no Hazard. Arsenal are spending lots. Would we take Pepe? And for 72M? I don't think so. What of a Ceballos loan? Are they going to play him instead of Mikhtarian or others when they do not even have an option to buy? How do either help their defence? If we play to our current potential, I believe we still are in the top 4. The question then becomes, can we stay healthy enough and have enough options to compete to win in 4 competitions? Last year, health was not on our side. Beyond fatigue, we rarely saw Dembele, Kane was out twice, Son on incessant international duty. 58 competitive games and we only had 7 that managed more than 40 appearances. Man City had 12, Liverpool 11, Chelsea 12, United 7 and Arsenal only had 5 but had a further 8 who made 35 plus appearances. Our XI was chopped and changed all year long. Not for tactical reasons but to accommodate those who could not play.

If money guaranteed success, Fulham would not have gone down.

I am confident Levy will do his job, Poch will do his and the lads will be better than last year. Team, by and large, is still young and the key young components are all signed well in to the 2020's. There is a lot to look forward to

Certainly reads better when you can see what the other person is saying!

Fingers crossed things go our way.

Interesting thing for me is that if it's not Bruno of Gio, then we have other irons in the fire, which I imagine have not hit the press and therefore would explain quite how tightlipped JJ has been lately.

Please post more often. I enjoyed your perspective regarding the ITK's objective at the start of the window. Fair points
