Just been reading through last night's later postings about Bale staying/going/etc and realised something: Paulinho has said that Spurs saying AVB and Bale are going nowhere is a good thing for him: does this mean we are signing a hot prospect who doesn't see us as a stepping stone? Surely if retaining our best players is something he likes he can't then angle for a move after a couple of seasons claiming City were his boyhood club!

I read it that Gareth Bale wants to shoot us all in the head before throwing us out of a plane.

  1. Guys/girls there is at least two people in this thread who can shoot me down. But I have heard (weeks ago) that we are expecting or anticipating a big bid. And plans have been made.

  2. To confirm I'm saying he wants out. Or he will be leaving.

This is what He said but then later said that bale wont force a move and we want to keep him but if a big bid comes in we will sell

What a fun way to start the day. Better not sell Bale.

I don't think so, if he leaves it will be because the board wants the money. Nothing else, Bale is happy to stay this season this is obvious.

As I asked in the Bale thread are Real Madrid able to pay a big fee for Bale. they still owe us £20 million on Modric. can RM be trusted financially ?

After both AVB and Paulinho have made statements to the press confirming Spurs will not be selling Bale - Levy would look very silly if he then sold him. His agent is defo stirring things with Real Madrid

Didn't paulinho say he's joined spurs because we showed our ambition by keeping AVB and Bale.

Let's be honest Real Madrid might bid and Bale might be interested (what player wouldn't). But I can't see DL selling THIS SEASON.

not even that, Marca is stirring it. Releasing old stuff bit by bit.

The agent said Bale was at Malaga airport going on holiday but he was back in Wales last week. Then said there is no offer so there is no decision to make (not a yes or a no).

How old is this interview? If he was in Marbella, surely it was weeks ago. Pre-season training starts soon.

If AVB says Bale is not going means not going. We should reject any RM approach... esp all these swap deals makes no sense to us. I also believe if Bale leaves, it will set us back big time as it is difficult to find immediate replacement. What is even worse is new targets will have highly inflated prices bec of Bale money. We end up not paying for the targets and without Bale for the new season.

What we need to do is to invest heavily this year plus scout for a replacement to prepare for Bale departure next year. We will then not be held hostage bec we had strengthen the team even when Bale leaves. Maybe Levy should chase after Lamela this window...

Just finished yesterdays thread, and want to add my tuppence worth.

I work with a Real Madrid fan, and he expects a huge bid from Real for Bale. Perez was already under pressure and then Barca signed Neymar. Then Neymar played quite well in the Con Cup and put him under even more pressure for a star signing. Isco has hardly made a ripple, and plenty saying even Suarez will not keep the Madrid "faithful" happy. Only Bale or Cavani will appease them as it stands. It is one of the reasons that Higuain has not been announced to Arsenal yet as he is a fan favourite and selling him without a big name in will cause huge unrest.

He agreed with me that as £80m has been bandied around and ignored it would take an even bigger bid for Levy to start considering it, at which point he may well leave it up to Bale to choose, or should I say his girlfriend, she may hold the key to where he goes.

Can't help but feel this whole new raft of Bale speculation has just spiraled out of him saying he likes the Champions League music.

THere was some comment from the Higuain thread that the scums is unable to meet the asking price hence no deal..... rather that a deal is closed. If RM sold Higuain, they can use the proceeds to bid for Cavani.

maybe that, too. A nothing interview to Esquire magazine of all places.

It was probably about where he goes shopping and which hair gel he uses, and then one thing about football that has become the focus with all sorts of exaggerated connotations attached to it.

I'm not too downbeat about this because as Brazil Yid says, the info is a few weeks old and who knows how long it took to get to him in the first place? This could well be what the position was (us expecting a bid etc) before or at the end of last season and who knows what's gone on/changed since then. Might be something, might be nothing.

At the end of the day, every player has their price and that's the position even if Bale had only signed a new contract yesterday and gave an interview saying how he doesn't want to go anywhere. Its always the position.
