All very quiet in the ITK front at the moment. I suppose we're at least 20 days away from when things normally pick up for Spurs, and I actually don't think we're looking to spend any money this window, but it's still quiet.

Well if Ade goes Levy better have a replacement lined up as good as or an upgrade to Ade. We can kiss CL goodbye if he thinks we will be 4th with just Defoe for half a season.

But after losing a 13 point lead last season with the likes of Modric and VDV I'm not so.

We never had a 13 point lead over anyone. Not once. The maximum was 10 points before the Arsenal away match.

People keep referring to this "13 point lead", but it never happened.

Selling Ade is crazy, even on a crap day he is a cut above.

Just because he's had an interupted season this time round people seem to forget the 17 goals & 11 assists he had last season. Sure he's temperamental but he's a proven premier league striker who would have cost a lot more money in the summer had man city not been so desperate to get rid of him.

All this talk of Ade and his attitude/form and the rest................ let's just stop and think about this for a bit. The ANC is here and with it brings the sad reminder of the bus bombing. How he got through that and continued to play is an achievement in itself. How many of you have had an attempt on your life? Having a near death experience is nothing compared to someone actually trying to kill you. This guy must have nightmares about travelling outside of the UK we he probably feels relatively safe.

This guy needs support and love. A manager who takes the time to focus on him so he can feel good about himself. AVB may not be that manager as he's so focused on the technical side of coaching where HR is probably the opposite hence working so well with him.
Just my opinion(y)

At 2-0 up at the Emirates we had a 13 point lead. At that point, Harry should have acknowledged we were getting battered, brought off one of the strikers and chucked Sandro on to bring PAIN! to their midfield.

If selling Adebayor means we can make a move for the likes of Llorente & Leandro then so bloody be it

He wouldn't let him go without getting another in. AVB would prefer not to play two strikers so if one striker is coming in, AVB would feel he could let one go. I'm not saying that will happen but say we finally bought that Brazilian kid would Ade be happy with a bit part of 3 into 1?

There maybe some club out there willing to pay the same for Ade as we will have to pay for LD and if that's the case we may well go for it.

I can't see us letting Ade go (famous last words!) Looking at our last two signings it may point again to where the club would look, mainly towards a young, hungry forward with potential. When we were first interested in Leandro, that was basically what we were trying to do, but with the long, well published transfer negotiations he has had time to push himself forward and subsequently he's big money now.

Ade is a good player, and by no means we should sell him IF we do not have a replacement.

Clearly avb doesnt not fully believe that either of
Our striker can play the lone role well ENOUGH. Keyword is enough. Ade brings alot to our general play but cant really score. Defoe can score but when hes not on form he does absolutely nothing else

Llorente would be my first choice, hes younger better with the ball, better strikin technique, better header, faster. Damiao is even younger, brazilian number 9, has all the potential in the world to become one of the best cf in the world.

While ade has served us well, i dont see why we should keep him if we can get hold of a player thats better, or a player that has the potential to world class

Even the best strikers in the world need time to adjust, so it is optimistic in the extreme to expect any new signing to come in and "hit the ground running". Accordingly January signings of strikers are only an option in the case of emergency or where there is already a decent strike force present who can hold the fort whilst the new man settles in. Unless Ade is demanding to go (and there are no obvious signs that this is the case) I would be very surprised if AVB/DL would sell him on at this stage in the season. He now seems about fully fit and I'm sure he just needs a confidence boost (and perhaps a less selfish strike partner in Defoe) to come up with a good tally of goals during the rest of the season. I really hope he stays.

can't really score? what a load of b*ll*cks. 17 goals last season says different. 46 in 104 for goons, 15 in 34 for city.

Ade has to (or chooses to) come deep - perhaps this is because we're lacking the creative midfielders we sold in the summer?
