Although I agree CB and LB are priority, I consider a striker as important and I'll be disappointed if we didn't sign one

Anyone see much of this fella ? Is he a CB ?
Wiki info:

"Lascelles began his career at Nottingham Forest, progressing through the club's youth system.[3] In January 2011, the club rejected a £5million offer from Arsenal for him.[3][4][5] He signed his first professional contract in March 2011.[6] Lascelles made his professional debut on 31 January 2012, starting in a 2–0 defeat to Burnley.[7]

In March 2012, Lascelles joined League One side Stevenage, on loan until the end of the 2011–12 season.[8][9] He made his debut for Stevenage on 13 March 2012, coming on as a 69th minute substitute in a 1–0 home win over Oldham Athletic, playing in the right-back position.[10] He made his first starting appearance in Stevenage's 6–0 away victory at Yeovil Town on 14 April 2012, scoring the club's fourth goal with a header from Luke Freeman's cross.[11] Lascelles also provided the assist for Patrick Agyemang's goal in the same game.[12] He remained as a first-team regular from then onwards, playing the remaining four games of the regular season as Stevenage secured a League One play-off spot.[13] Lascelles also played in both play-off matches, as Stevenage lost 1–0 on aggregate to Sheffield United.[14][15] He made nine appearances during his two-month loan spell, scoring once.[16]

On 7 August 2012, Lascelles signed a new four-year contract with current club Nottingham Forest.[17]

On 22 January 2014, Everton were fined £45,000 by the FA over an "unauthorised approach" to Lascelles in 2010 while he was still a youth player at Nottingham Forest. Lascelles was warned as to his future conduct.[18]

International career[edit]
Lascelles has represented England at under-18, under-19 and under-20 youth international level.[19]

On 28 May 2013, he was named in manager Peter Taylor's 21-man squad for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.[20] He made his debut on 16 June, in a 3–0 win in a warm-up game against Uruguay.[21]"

For what it's worth, I noticed JJ marked something I posted earlier as 'winner'

Big fan of JJ but I'm not getting too het up on anything he is saying regarding Rose, Davies et al at this point.

Sounds like he is mostly unsure as to what is happening just now and is offering mostly opinion to questions he is being asked. Pretty sure he has no particular inside track on what's going on with Davies.

JJ will likely become a lot more pertinent as the window goes on and our club's machine slowly starts to make noise as we firm up the majority of our moves a lot more when Poch has seen the team.

Lascelles is a good prospect but he'll only be a squad player initially, not something for us to get excited over. I want quality 1st team signings :(

According to TF1 in France, Tottenham Hotspur will now make their move for QPR & France striker Loic Remy. #THFC http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/07/06/tottenham-hotspur-prepare-loic-remy-assault/148770/…

@tottenhamtalk1 too early to comment and don't want it to get out yet.
So we are in for Lascelles big time but JJ doesnt want to put it out yet as other teams could hijack or am I reading too much into this.

Oh, by the way @JJetset accept the follow on twitter! Mr Bombay of the Mighty Ducks needs his ITK fix.

Lascelles is handy because he won't be looking for 1st team action right off the bat, he can get some cup time, Europa time and be available in an emergency (which for us is usually around February 3rd), but we would need a 1st teamer with him.

Wasn't there a rumour a few weeks ago about Angelo Ogbonna's agents being in London to meet with Spurs/Arsenal?....would be a good one to look at i think, big physically imposing defender who can move but is behind Chiellini at Juve so may be open to a move where he could see more time.

Lascelles must have something about him to be chased by PL clubs for so long at such a young age.

I'm glad we're targeting youngsters again, exciting stuff buying potential. Would like to see us get a young striker too at the very least

Difference here is they appear to have a capable manager.
For me the jury is still out on Rodgers. They had a good season last year, but like I said in another thread, the first 5 games of the season, when Suarez was suspended, they struggled to score (like us with AVB), the won 3, drew 1 & lost 1 ave 1 goal per game. In the first 5 games we won 4 and ave 1 goal a game. The next 19 games, there was only 3 games Suarez didn't score or assist and they lost all 3. After that, they won 11 in their next 11, playing 3 teams tired form European commitments and 6 teams that were in very poor form and even then there was only 3 games Suarez didn't score or assist.

I honestly believe their success was due to having a world class player having an amazing/unplayable season, not having to play two games a week because of Europe and timing, with Man Utd, Chelsea & Man City all having new managers.

With Suarez almost certain to leave and the CL to juggle, this season will really be a test of how good Rogers is.

Why is everyone so certain the player in the Daily Mail JJ is talking about is Lascelles?

JJ started on twitter that he didn't want "it to get out yet" but he has already commented on Lascelles saying it depends on his value and we will see what happens.

That suggests to me that the player mentioned by the DM is a different player.

I know we are all hungry for ITK but obviously not much happening atm.

No point in pestering JJ for information when there is none.

Maybe time to ease up on him for a bit.

you might not agree with my post but calling it pathetic without any form of counter argument is pretty pathetic in itself.

its an opinion on mine based on what i see before me. I hope i'm wrong. But time will tell
I wouldn't sweat it given the quality of shit he was churning out at one point last season :D

Let he without sin cast the first stone and all that…….

We all do it.
