Absolutely. I know I keep saying it but Ade has malaria and is off to the ANC, Kane is a promising youth player (but no more than that) and Soldado could just as easily prove to be a waste of money as turn it around. A proven PL striker on loan who can also provide goals from wide areas is a no brainer (assuming he can pass a medical obviously).

If there is no transfer fee the medical shouldn't really be a problem should it?.....if he breaks down send him back.(y)

You do Townsend a disservice.

He was one of our best players last year. He made the England team and when he played for his country was one of the most exciting and effective players.

This season Townsend has been impressive in the pre-season.

Townsend is a product of the Spurs system. He's a player that refused to be cut. What a great attitude! He brings quality & variety to the team.

You can run him down as much as you like but I like what I see in this player.

Andros Townsend deserves our support - not underhand, unfair jokes about his shooting.

This has nothing to do with ITK and it's nonsense.

Personally I think Levy will wait for MM to be back in the UK with Villareal to conclude the deal so that he doesn't gave to pay for his flight!! They are due to play Swansea Saturday, therefore likely to arrive Thurs/Fri.

This would tie in with various reports of deal to be done by the end of the week.

Yesterday there were 79 posts containing the word 'Remy' and 77 posts containing the word 'Townsend'

A quick check of the Read Only tells me there hasn't been any ITK on this. So one of three things has happened. It's come from an unverified source, it's come from a verified source and nobody slung it in to the Read Only or this is just the figment of some fuckwits imagination.

Another thing is that its a pretty safe bet that within those 79 and 77 posts you've already treated us all to your onions on it all.

And finally, as the stats show, it's been done and put away now, we don't need it all repeated again today.

Jesus. Its a joke.

I've already had this conversation with you though but I'll have it again as it obviously didn't sink in. I like that he's Spurs through and through but he hasn't developed into a team player yet, that's just the simple truth of it.

If Poch can improve him, via good caching, than fantastic - we could have a great player in the future. As it stands he's nowhere near that yet and if Poch elected to go for someone who offers a far bigger goal threat now whilst allowing Townsend to continue to develop playing games somewhere else I would be totally up for it.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't get behind Townsend if we keep him for this season, of course I would.

It's come from three sources in the last 24 hours (JJ, Gards and someone who knows a QPR player ((not sure that is a verified source)) referring to a swap deal with Townsend/Remy) so IMO a comparative debate is relevant but it's your house. I won't post about it on this thread any further.

There's nothing in the RO but JJ did say this:
  1. steve singh ‏@steve_singh420 Aug 5
    @jetsetyid any chance of remy??

The original JJetset ‏@jetsetyid Protected Tweets Aug 5
  2. @steve_singh420 Harry wants a swap! #itstrue
    Djemba Djemba ‏@Down1The1Lane Aug 5
@jetsetyid who does he want from spurs though? Sig would've been a realistic one. He probably wants Adebayor or something crazy?
  3. The original JJetset ‏@jetsetyid Protected Tweets Aug 5
    @Down1The1Lane AT
  4. Robbie Braham ‏@BrahamRobbie Aug 5
@jetsetyid @Down1The1Lane Doubt that will happen then feel Poch will want to see if he can develop him
    The original JJetset‏@jetsetyid Protected Tweets
@BrahamRobbie @Down1The1Lane I'm not saying it will happen just that's what Harry wants !

That isn't Spurs ITK. That's what JJ has heard that Harry wants. There's nothing to suggest we have any interest in entertaining a swap deal.

Once again it's all come from the QPR end. There's been nothing I have seen that suggests we are interested.

After his bout in autumn 2006 Zokora was back in training inside a fortnight, which made the SC members who had been offering prayers for his survival look altogether daft. I don't see why Ade should be any different, or why he shouldn't be fit for the Spammers.

Granted but it's come our ITK sources in the last 24/48 hours. If a rival club makes a bid for one of our players, whether we're interested or not, I thought it was OK to discuss it on here given it's very recent?

I am genuinely not trying to be difficult. Just trying to understand the parameters.

Yeah, it obviously affect people in different ways. It's conceivable he'll be up and running, but equally he could be out for a long time. I imagine it's similar to dengue, which my colleague got and was back at work good as new in 2-3 weeks, while I took 3 months to get anywhere near normal. Bloody mozzies (not racialist).

Ade looked like he was suffering on Saturday and if it weren't for the truly pathetic nature of our opponents I doubt he'd have got more than 10 minutes. Maybe that'll help him get up to speed but it'd be a remarkable achievement for him to be fully match fit for 90 minutes against West Ham. If it happens it should (but won't) be enough to put the "lazy" tag to bed once and for all.

JJ confirmed the Townsend/Remy swap on twitter.

EDIT: Just noticed people have said this isn't Spurs ITK. Grey area surely?
