The parking attendant up our local town centre stopped me today when I parked in a disabled parking bay

you would imagine before we played Soton last season that Poch and his team did an analysis of us to highlight weaknesses etc

You have to imagine that he would have highlighted left back as being a weakness of ours and right back too if Walker was not fit.

So I would like to think a LB is top of his list even without assessing the squad

That's probably what the bin dippers fans were saying about us last summer,as Girth Crook said at the time sold elvis & bought the beatles, just a shame we bought lennon & harrison though, at least ringo & paul can still "run abart a bit"

Not the thread for it but couldn't resist. They're hardly clueless. Lallana, Markovic, Sanchez (possibly), Origi and Lambert. Some quality players and what they're doing is getting them early, we left 3 of ours until 30th/31st of August. They also have a manager who can take them places. I hate Liverpool but they are a force and like it or not are in a better position than us

So if Danny Rose has some good games in training for Poch he will start the season at LB as if his 30 shite games for us last season never happened?

Surely not, Poch must know who is shit and who isn't

That's a massively simplistic way of looking at it.

Lots of players didn't have good seasons last year but you wouldn't necessarily want them out of the club without Poch getting a chance to have a look at them.

Besides, as we're clearly going for a left back in Davies it's clear that Poch knows it's an area of concern.

I think it's a good idea for him to get the players together in training before making any rash decisions. It sounds like he's identified a few areas that we definitely need improvement, and he's prepared to let the rest of the squad fight for their place. Sounds very sensible to me.

Why not? As far as I'm concerned everyone should get a clean slate under the new manager and its up to them, and to be honest I'd rather training was used as an indication of performance. If we have certain players doing well in training everyday, out-performing others and showing a good attitude I would rather they got a shot than people who went through the motions during the week thinking they can just turn it on (but usually don't) come matchday.
