So much activity with sealed lips behind closed doors. The well under 21 player is expected to happen, it is a tricky situation at present. RM not showing the eagerness either financially, or otherwise for CE. He has a deadline which is very close now, to commit. And I won’t go further on that. All the other plausibles & possibles, coming out of the media arm of RM, is deliberate leaks, with little enhancement on truth to move out some of their players to us.

Our targets are rigid and firm, and you know this already. And from what I am hearing, we won’t divert spending our funds elsewhere, until we satisfy all I have stated regarding ‘targets’. There is no panic from our end.

Quite a few of our young potential academy kids we are aiming to loan out to the right clubs. This pre-season is key for Troy Parrot, as he may become integral part of first team squad.

He may be young, but I genuinely think he's good enough to join the first team squad this season. Hope he takes his opportunity.

Always felt Parrot was why we never signed a backup striker beyond Llorente. Here's hoping that it works out for him. Cheers for rest of info. I know which well under 21 player I'd love but not for this thread.

Nice comment on Parrott. Looking forward to seeing how he gets on if he features in our ICC games.

Interesting re: Eriksen. Does he come back to the contract table? Not sure how I'd feel about that TBH. Saw someone use an analogy that describes it well saying it would feel 'like a loveless and practical relationship, where a couple breaks up but neither can afford to pay the other one to move of the flat'.

Not sure I follow the bit about diverting funds, but I appreciate Herc needs to be vague. I assume it means we are sticking to our targets. Just feels like everything is on hold currently which sucks.

Love this about TP, I think a loan for him is only worthwhile if he’s going to get the minutes, so being on the periphery of the first time and playing in the youth sections could be the best course for his development.

Just to add, we are getting quoted 25m plus sterling equivalent for 18 year olds, that can be argued if they are better than Troy. Expect totally different playing formation this season😉

.

I thought this when I saw Marca report that Arsenal are now head of the queue for Ceballos. Looked like a blatant leak to put pressure on us to more than likely increase our offer.

Cheers Hercules I'm none the wiser on who we are after or how close we are to those I think I know about but I feel more comfortable with it all now and pleased there is no panic at our end.(y)

Cheers Herc! Interested re the point around the deadline for Eriksen - what happens if he doesn't commit?!

Great news on Parrott, been years since we had a striker come through the academy

Yep. Not a scooby on most of who Herc is referring to, but really happy we seem confident and in control.
