Welcome to our extra special, super cool deadline day transfer thread, what does today have in store for us? Will we sign a player? Or will we extend our record to two transfer windows without bringing anyone in?

Janssen to? Cardiff? Burnley? GKN to Monaco? Will Levy hijack another clubs deal and sign someone or will he be sat in his playpen watching Sky Sports News whilst munching on a Happy Meal?

Not only has this transfer window been bereft of signings, we've also not had a cryptic. So we'll put that right at some point today if the opportunity arises.

Because this thread hasn't been too much of a pain in the nutsack this month I've a treat for you.

For today, we're relaxing the spam rules, as long as it's transfer related fill your boots, talk about what you like, Levy, HG, Transfer Policy, the strange rash that's suddenly appeared on your old chap, whatever. We'll have our usual live ticker thread for the actual info/ITK and keep that updated should anything happen so check that out during the day.

I'm planning on spending the morning in bed, an hour in the bath, then the afternoon in the pub...all while being glued to SC but without any thought that we're actually gonna sign anyone.

I might actually enjoy this one.

Go: Vorm
Buy: HG GK if no youth option





Defence
Keep: Trippier, Rose, Vertonghen, Davies, Foyth, Sanchez, KWP
Go: Aurier, Alderweireld
Buy: Id like Dier to start playing CB more often. If not we will need a new one.





Midfield
Keep: Winks, Lamela, Wanyama, Dier, Sissoko, Alli, Skipp
Go: Eriksen (want him to stay desperately but at present..), N’Koudou
Buy: one top class CM





Attack
Keep: Kane, Son, Moura
Go: Janssen, Llorente
Buy: One forward who can play in multiple positions


All this would see up to 7 non HGs leave. And 4 players arrive. That is huge upheaval to the squad but aside from Eriksen and Aurier, the other 5 are uncontroversial and the club would like them to leave. If Eriksen left we’d have serious funds to help. I naively suppose him leaving might actually give us that £150m warchest that people were harping on about. Poch might be able to find a player he likes for that kind of money.

I’ve tried to resist giving the squad the football manager style make over it would ideally have. But this summer - with a number of contracts expiring - is a good time to inject some real quality into the squad.

My veteran virgin window weariness leaves me in a weird position of not expecting a single thing to happen today. And yet Trix was quite positive at the weekend about movement. At the very least shifting the shit would eliminate one reason for not signing anyone next window.
