Good morning olympians of the wrist

It's here at last! At 11pm tonight we can all go back to living normal lives. I don't know what that means for you peasants but it's a godsend for me I can tell you. My absence from the local dogging scene has been noted and the local chief constable's wife isn't very happy about it. The mayor isn't best pleased either. Who'd have thought they would have missed someone dressed as a nazi klingon lollipop lady so much. Or maybe its not so much that as the handheld vadge I take along.

I've been thinking about how the last few transfer windows have always left us wanting a bit more to say the least and that this window has been like all the let downs made up for in one fell swoop. But the downside is in knowing that unless some raving lunatic billionaire takes over the club we're unlikely to see the likes of this transfer window ever again. But you can always say 'I was there' when Levy went all Viv Nicholson.......

Oh and today, at last, we'll be keeping the Live ITK Ticker updated for those of you who just want a point of reference to events as they unfold without having to wade through page after page of people waxing lyrical about how they can't see this happening or why signing so and so is not happening. You know, the phrases that are usually ended with a chavism such as 'end of'.......'just saying' or 'fact'.

I think today is going to be all about outgoing players rather than incoming ones

So who will we sign today? NOBODY

And who might leave? Carroll, Lennon, Benny, Adebayor, any number of younger players.

The Goat will be posting at some point this morning, I have a few things to get out of the way first and then i'll be here to prod and cajole as usual :sneaky:

Todays word of the day is: Cockslap

Morning gents (and ladies) had a cursory look on COYS and (confirmed) Twitter sources for ITK and it seems to be all quiet on the western front.

First day of three weeks off, coffee is percolating, champagne is on ice and I bloody well hope it's going to start off on the right foot with this jaw dropping signing that GOAT elluded to

2 more brings us up to a total of 9 new incoming players. That's a bit of a worry. Will the lads gel in time before fans and media turn on them?

Guess we're looking a left back to step in ahead of Rose and a back-up striker for Soldado, hopefully someone of a different ilk so we have more options from the bench. As it stands we've got two poachers and Ade.

Gards saying Defoe could be gone if we sign a striker. Does that mean Ade stays?

Against Norwich we could have a front 6 of Sandro, Paulinho, Eriksen, Lamela, Soldado and one from Dembele, Siggi, Lennon, Townsend, Defoe etc. This window has been brilliant no matter what happens today. Don't let yesterday's events get you down, we will gel and we'll be fucking excellent overall this season.

If we can manage a LB and a striker to replace Ade or Defoe, it'd be phenomenal but I'm not expecting too much activity and any signing is a bonus.

Happy deadline day xxx

Media already saying it, especially after yesterday. I hope the fans give the new boys time as none have played in the Prem before.

As for today, LB and striker/LWF will do me as the two. Gards says the striker can play there, making me think Suarez.

Hopefully Ince is classed as one for the future and not 1 of the 2 players ... will be a major let down if he's Defoe's replacement.

Before fans turn on them? Did you see matchthread yesterday :-( apparently Chadli is rubbish, Paulinho new Jenas and Dembele always been not good enough. I wonder if some if these 'fans' remember the 90's or started 'supporting' when we got 4th..

Benzema is highly unlikely but if we were to sign him I could see him on the left cutting in but also covering for Soldado. Kills 2 birds with one stone so to speak. I would still be disappointed is Defoe is sold though given the absence of Adebayor for much of the last year.

Hopefully a left back too. Not sure who though. I've had my mind on us signing Coentrao for a while now I've not seen much mention of left backs. Baines being the most recent but I can't see that happening.

Not sure if they'd sell to us if they didn't want to sell to Arsenal. It would be hilarious if they sold him on deadline day though.
