Fuck sake. Been at hospital as my old dear had a heart attack this afternoon. Missed all the juicy ITK chat.

Me and 2 of my brothers must have spent an hour talking about Spurs formations, players etc whilst mum just laid there listening, the poor cow!

Things are juice nine up quite nicely for a typically spurs'y final deadline day!

Needless to say, mum's health and well being is much more important than anything else.

Wish her a speedy recovery Shanks.

surprised by the lack of ITK on outgoing as assuming MM, MS and a LWF must be based on us shedding a fair few players.

Good luck buddie. I hope your mum gets better, and you have a great season with Spurs winning some trophies.
Here's to the Shanks family.

Great day of info! Thanks to all ITK's!

I'd love to bring in Depay and also Rodriguez in January. We need quality wingers. Sell Lennon. Bring in Depay. Communicate to Rodriguez we still need and want him.

Now that my optimism is out of the way, time for my realism. I highly doubt levy will drop the at least 15mill it will take to get Rodriguez in january.

Hope everything works out for you and your family @Shanks

If we want to have any shot whatsoever of bringing in those three players, you've got to think that we need to sell off quite a few players. Some of which we most likely won't want to see sold.

We'd actually need to lose 11 players over 21yo to accommodate 3 incomings.

Loaning Fredericks, Veljkovic, Carroll and Ceballos makes 4; selling Kaboul,BAE, Khumalo and Obika makes another 4; but there'd still need to be 3 more. A lot of work in 3.5 weeks.

Krueger (Saints Chairman) says that they didn't want to keep any disgruntled/uncommitted players and has also said that they will not sell Schneiderlin. He also dismissed the tweet as nothing big.

How retarded is this guy?

This is probably why we haven't seen much out goings. Rival clubs aren't stupid. They will see we've got a surplus of players and will wait until the last week to make their move at a low price.

We have money to spend. Question is, does Levy give a cut of it towards transfers or does he put all of it towards the new stadium and operating expenses? We made a profit during the window last summer, currently in the black by about 12 mill with this years transfers, and have the TV money which has supposedly tripled due to the NBC contract.

That's all fine and good, but we've got to take the wage bill under consideration. We've got earners like Dawson, BAE, Sandro or Dembele and a couple others that we probably want to shift and that's not even taking into account what was likely a considerable wage raise for Vertonghen/Lloris after their new deals.

We've brought on Vorm, Davies and Dier and sold off Falque, Siggy and Livermore. I'm guessing that Davies alone probably accounts for Livermore/Falque's sold wages or just about near that.

We may have a good amount of cash available, but we realistically are probably looking to pocket a good chunk of what we earn and we still have to keep the wage bill in mind.

What's the punishment for not getting under the limit?

None. We just end up paying players big wages for players who aren't allowed to play in any matches.

Worst case scenario is we send them off to a country with a different transfer window, like when Bentley ended up in Russia.

I'd guess Davies probably is on the same wages Siggy was. Livermore and Falque probably account for close to Vorm and Dier. I'd think Dawson, BAE and Naughton are probably going to go. Their wages probably equate to about 100k a week combined.

MS is looking over. Kruger saying he won't be sold for any money. Can't see how be backs down from that, and its obvious we're miles away in valuations. Real shame if Poch was desperate for him. :(

All effort into Musacchio now please.

You're probably close on that as well. I guess we should count Defoe as part of that since we didn't make any additions since his sale before the recent Summer signings. So, that being said, Schneiderlin will likely command in excess of £60-70k/week (I believe Holtby was on around £65k/week when we lured him to us), Musacchio has been reported to treble his wages (was on £20k/week at Villarreal) so he's going to be at around £60k/week and Depay would obviously come in cheaper than that (let's assume £35k/week). On the lower side, that's about £160k/week in new contracts.

IF we can sell players such as Dawson, BAE, Dembele and another winger (Lennon would be my choice despite his preseason), I'd think that would put us in pretty good shape when you take into account the contracts off the books already (Defoe, Siggy, Livermore and Falque).

There's plenty of work to be done still.
