Same agent as Bale hopefully the relationship between Barnett and Levy is good enough to steer Sig our way

Everybody forgets that and its very important imo. His Agent will want him to go where the money is, thats his job after all.

The reason the amounts on offer is known is because it is known how much he was offered at Swansea and it is known we initially, offered him the same deal with a little better future incentives. From available info it seems Sours will have offered him around £40,000 p\w and we offered around £25,000 p\w which, if what I was told, we bumped to £30-35,000. Their argument is not just your offer but the amounts Henderson and Carroll, who are basically the same age, are earning.

FSG won't match it (I'm shocked they bumped it) because they feel Brendan Rodgers has had an agreement twice with Gylfi for a certain amount which he has now gone back on. I feel it is because they are undoing all the bad work of Comolli and the contracts he was dishing out and the reputation he earned the club when it came to silly wages and fees.

I agree, it just doesn't make sense. I can't see us offering more than £45k a week for him to be honest. If Liverpool weren't offering at least that much they weren't really being serious with their pursuit.

And it clearly is not about the money for this guy, he was willing to go to Swansea, and they clearly were not going to pay what a Spurs or Liverpool could afford. It's not like he had his agent whoring himself out to every club after the season was over. The Swansea deal didn't fall through until Rodgers left, where it's completely understandable that a player would change his mind after a managerial change. Wherever he ends up, I think it will be where he feels he can have the most impact, has the best chance to develop, and have the most fun as a professional. Which can't really be said about too many players any more, so I really hope he signs up with us, seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

I agree but you are completely under-estimating the pressure Agents put on players to take the highest wage for obvious reasons, especially when its a significant gap.

All I know is that the manager and game time are his biggest priorites so if as expected he signs for you tomorrow he must have had satisfactory assurances about playing time and who the Manager will be as if there were any issues around these two things he would not sign for Spurs and would go with the comfortable Rodgers option. This is whay makes me suspicious about VDV still being here come August. Pure guesswork on my part that thouh.

The mirror said Spurs trying to get him on a free. the 8 mil transfer fee given to Adebayor for difference between 175k a week city wages and new spurs contract

Well, he clearly resisted the pressure to chase the money when his initial move to Swansea was happening. Clearly he could have gotten more money from somebody else, but he didn't really hit the market until Rodgers left, and it certainly seems that even now he's not going for silly money.

Ya'll motherfuckers is crazy as shit. Next time you're walking down the street and some homeless guy is shacking his penis at the aliens trying to suck his mind out through his eyes......don't laugh.....still saner than you.

But less enjoyable. :)

Yup surprised Adebayor has gone so quiet. Thought we'd try and tie that one up asap.

his loan deal only officially expired yesterday, he had confirmed on his official account that cannot be discussed that he was talking to Levy about his future.

JJ has disappeared. Maybe he was one of the people that were fired to prepare club for investment. Thus why he didn't know anything about investment!

Here's a prediction....

AVB will be our manager this week
There will be NO investment of takeover
There will be some sort of in unexciting announcement about the stadium, something along the lines of we have gone out to tender for the building and work will start on the supermarket
Modric will leave
Sigurdsson will be his replacement
Adebayor will sign.
Vertonghen will sign

And that will be about it...

There will be no massive news to shake the football world.
