I am going to be extremely cautious with what I am about to say. Please do not start guessing games etc, as some have. CE expected to be announced tomorrow. May I add, that with us we drag things out. SB everything agreed fee-wise, and structure not far from being finalised, if it hasn’t already in the past hour or so. KP we are where he wants to come. We want loan with option, and not crazy loan fee Milan want. Willian Josè actually still in the fire, and his club willing to do almost any deal. Striker from Germany our back-up, and it is not Werner. There is another that is back up to all this. The DM is seen as 60/40 against in this window.

DL still wants CL, and with the limited funds trying to make the digits work, and keep the banks happy. JM wants SB & striker done by Wednesday Bale is not happening!

CAUTION
That is the state of play, but you know us. Don’t blame DL here, as his hands are tied. He is doing everything to make it happen. And this is not come via club’s ‘spin doctors’

I guess Bergwijn is part of a bit of a younger re-build in the attacking positions and at that 'before he really makes it' price that Leicester etc often seem to make the move for - so that's good and he seems promising.

Still seem confused that the two biggest weaknesses, an able CDM and a top quality full back, haven't been deemed a priority to address.

Piatek and Willian Jose - a bit meh, but we certainly need a striker so lets hope one of them can be sealed on loan for the remainer of the season but without an obligation...then we can hopefully we can go in to the market with higher aspirations in the summer - unless they particularly impress.

Thanks all for sharing what you hear.

Have to agree on the CDM point as we are crying out for someone in that position. If we could get someone decent I think it would change our whole seasons dynamic. Not sure why Jose doesn’t think it’s a priority

Absolute *WEGHORST* klaxon.

FINALLY. (lol)

[To confirm, I just like the guy's name and we were linked with him and Werner elsewhere in the world of Spurs rumours re: strikers from the Germania.]

Well isn't this all much more positive campers eh? A&C won't have to ban you all now. He will. But he won't have to.

Wout Weghorst?

A 6 ft 4inch striker whose strengths are aerial duels and flick ons?

That sounds more like Mourinho.

Looks a good player albeit he’s definitely a target man/battering ram. Hopefully we can come to an agreement with AC for KP as he’s got the most about him out of the three options.

60/40 against on the DM, I’d imagine could very easily shift the other way if we suddenly offloaded Wanyama, Rose, KWP, Foyth etc. I’d guess Bergwijn and Piatek/Jose/German backup takes us to our limit as things stand, but as the ITK always suggest, transfer scenarios are puzzles of moving parts subject to fluid change.
Trix alluded earlier there could be one more in once outgoings are resolved, wit a follow up this did not refer to Bergwijn.
There was a comment I saw elsewhere, about once Bergwijn and Piatek(?) were done, we will wait and see if anything comes to us rather than chase targets.

Are we trying to sign two strikers? I kind of reads that we might be.

Poacher and an absolute unit.

The six who could be leaving ahead of deadline as stated earlier:

Eriksen (done)
Rose (he prefers loan as wants a nice big signing on fee at end of his contract. He’s not liked by the hierarchy and don’t think he likes them much!)
CCV
Parrott (championship loan before you all s*** yourselves
Wanyama (agent offering to every club in professional football and Levy trying to use him as part of a number of incomings. Not going to reveal all the issues he has faced in recent seasons as unfair on him and his career).
KWP

Foyth situation is dynamic but highly unlikely to leave as it stands.

The incomings are all out there. If an opportunity comes along which Jose likes/on our radar and is doable then wouldn’t rule out another deal. Bale not happening as all
of us knew but didn’t want to know!

Overall opinion: It’s a good start to the rebuild which actually began in the summer.

In the summer I expect us to conclude deals for long term targets And address squad issues (CDM, LB and RB). Board already in talks with a LB but have no name.

Also, just opinion on this. I know we were very interested in Bowen but logic tells me that once we complete signing of SB, he will no longer be joining us. Same position.

That'll happen when a random 22-year old winger shows up at your training facility asking to please sign him and then refusing to leave.

Lots of positive actions and makes me feel Jose wants the same as us and theres no way he would allow a window to pass without signing anyone!

The strikers we are linked with would compliment Kane and would love to have a plan b!

Makes sense to go for the short term loans and work on the better deals in the summer.

I always try to not get my hopes up until I see it announced on the OS, but a window of Piatek, Bergwijn and Gedson would be an incredible start to rejuvenating the squad. In a January window, no less!

Add a genuine DM with mobility, power and technique, and it’s a winner of a window. I would firmly start to believe the rebuild is underway.

Cheers for posting! Think the Parrott loan is the most interesting for me (with regards to outgoings). Sky are reporting that QPR & Charlton want him, so it will be great to see him (hopefully) get a number of games under his belt!

The budget restraints etc. Makes me wonder if the takeover rumours are true and lewis does not want to put anymore money in before he gets out.

We have been told over and over again funds are there (if you believe them)
