Dragon and JJ could both be right really. We're far apart from our valuation of a striker but we still get a loan. We were far apart with Betis for Lo Celso. I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar deal for Jose.

Thought dragon info was from earlier despite being posted here now? If so, then 1) we couldn't reach deal for Piatek / Jose and 2) turned to loan option which jj refers. As for loan option, Paco is available?

Alcacer is going to Villarreal.

Just for @Stoof and all the other :woot: fans...

W/out is a known contraction of the word 'Without'

And 'Weg' is the German road for Road or Path

Where no road or path exists, it follows that there can only be bare earth or soil.

Consequently W/out Weg gives us soil.

Of the many actors to have played Hamlet, I note one of Germany's most famous actors, one Horst Caspar, played him on stage in 1945.

Consequently, soil upon Hamlet gives us

W/out Weg Horst.

Or Wout Weghorst.

I rest my case

amazing but yet I doubt the folk(s) that came up with this cryptic could have come up with this ?

So we have ITK of a player at Hotspur way who
is not a striker and we’re looking to bring a striker in before city on loan. If we can get a midfielder or RB in before the end of the window plus cover upfront, with a view to permanent that’s a pretty good window

was thus confirmed by any of "our" itks's and not just gards on twitter? genuine question and not bashing anyone?

Gards reported earlier that JM didn’t want him anyway.

Just an observation, but Gards has definitely been a lot more active in regards to ITK this window hasn't he... maybe it's just me but I don't remember him sharing as much info while Poch was in charge.

Wout Carthorse, would be a good signing for short term, it was in Das Bild like 4/5 days ago and since hitc just keep regurgitating the same article.

Would prefer Wout to Jose and that other mug. Thanks goodness we missed rasiak 2.0 too!

Seems there was quite the fallout from the news of Piatek going to Hertha. Let's be clear, if we'd really wanted him then we could've had him. Hertha are fighting relegation currently so with all due respect to them, it's not like he's chosen them over us. We've clearly decided to walk away.

Equally, transfers can change very quickly. At the start of the week Man Utd's deal for Bruno was absolutely dead in the water and as of last night he's as good as signed.

JJ says a striker is highly likely so there's no reason to overreact to the Piatek news.

Hertha are presumably prepared to buy him and we're not. Fair enough.

Hertha also have a fairly epic ex-player which may have swayed things... :cautious:
FYP.
very mixed managerial performance so far.
Regardless, I am sure the Klinsmann factor played a part in the player's decision making and we can't have in any way been overly sure about him as a player if we were willing to stand by and let him be "pinched" by Hertha.

That said, it could also just be because of our need for creative accounting and that this is the risk we will continue to have between now and EOB tomrrow. I am assuming the mods would prefer us to move the discussion to the player thread now though.

There is if it results in Giroud ?

JJ is always ultra cautious with his info these days. He has stuck his neck out (and even offered a cash bet) about a striker coming in.

I would be amazed if one doesn’t come in.

Yes but things change as we all know so people naturally aren't optimistic. People are never optimistic when it comes to Levy sometimes ?

I don't think people doubt JJ.

Levy, on the other hand...

I agree with that he does seem very confident. I just hope we don't leave it to late to get something done. So many teams need a striker I'd imagine we will have a lot of competition.

Piatek the perfect example. I don't think anyone saw Hertha Berlin coming in and paying the full asking price just like that.

That said JJ's info has given me some confidence that we are desperate for one, contrary to other reports.
