In my view it's the correct option to avoid Piatek on a permanent deal. Too risky regardless of whether we have someone else lined up.

He may turn out to be good he may not, I'd rather go with Moura, Son, Alli or Parrot for a few months than take that gamble.

Unless we can sign a worldie or a proven back up striker then a loan deal is the best option.

Yeah unfortunately we can't throw 30 mill here there and everywhere and write it off. Something has to give and we will probably be better off long term spending that cash on Bergwijn. In the short term however with no Kane it's concerning.

So, are there currently two potential signings being discussed?
1. Cryptic from The Goat, which may or may not be a striker.
2. Mystery player at Hotspur Way, who isn’t a striker according to Gards.

The fact it’s cryptic on No1, and for No2 Herc and Tottenhamboys confirm something is going on but won’t name names, suggests it’s too sensitive to release the name on both counts, so presumably not someone we’ve been linked with in the press, or else maybe someone we have but are so close we don’t want to risk getting Willian’d again at a delicate stage.

Or are these two stories about the same player, and I’ve misunderstood.... There has been plenty of positivity over Piatek until this afternoon, but it feels we’ve just walked away and let Hertha have a clear run. Is that because of other players coming available, or because we just felt the deal Milan wanted was not good.

I think if we had Willian Jose there and Chelsea found out they would be duty bound to hijack the deal for bantz. We are going to announce him on 75 mins on Sunday as he comes on as sub against City just to make sure. :cautious:

Reluctantly agree- I put a big wager on him this morning. Luckily the kids’ school shoes are still a size too big

Got a feeling we'll see how he does while at Sheffield United somehow. Gets him in the English game and likely premier league next season, too.
