I would imagine he will be using modern techniques...

You would hope so, but you never know. It is encouraging to see that they had very few injuries last year and although they didn't have as many 2 game weeks due to no Europe, but they have a small squad to deal with the games, where as we could pretty much put a different team out midweek, than on a weekend with significantly weakening.

I was playing golf this evening with my cousin who is the Stoke Academy goalkeeping coach, apparently Townsend is a big troublemaker and has bust ups daily on the training ground(the info came from tony parks who was up at stoke shortly after leaving us, this wasn't the first time they met and apparently tony is a really nice guy who my cousin said could listen to his stories all day) also sherwood was speaking disrespectfully toward levy in front of the players and staff and apparently parks did not speak highly of sherwood at all and as my cousin put it thought he was a knob, on top of that the dressing room leaks during the season were coming from the chef who weirdly was in the dressing room during a lot of games but however was kicked out by Tim. And lastly according to my cousin ours and Chelsea's academy are by far the best in the country which going by how both teams don't really produce first team players seems a bit odd. I kno it's not transfer itk but I thought I'd share with you as it was interesting to hear and thought you guys would appreciate it.

It wasn't much but it was quite fascinating some of the stories(mostly nothing to do with spurs) from someone who is actually based at a premier league club, he is really friendly with begovic and says crouch is one of the nicest guys he's met.

Apart from a session of 2 touch with butland,Sorensen,begovic and my cousin( which apparently Sorensen lost and my cousin was chuffed he didn't) I didn't get no info on players to be honest I asked about any transfer rumours up there and all he said was that he saw bardsley doing a medical at the training ground a few weeks ago before he left for his summer break.

I agree and on top of your concerns, I am also concerned about the intensity of fitness training. If Poch is just simply doing intense training, it would be very bad and could cause a lot of injuries, however if he really knows his stuff in regards to modern techniques, recovery etc, than this could be a fantastic thing for the team, and any players who weren't happy with it would soon come round when they started to feel fitter, stronger & faster.

£3m per year for a fitness instructor fucking great.

Should of just got Harry bassett in if this is the case.

Do people realise that players like Hoddle, Gazza, Ginola probably wouldn't get in under such a regime.

Wow, good job in manipulating the situation to have a winge. Just because he gets the players to a good level of fitness doesn't mean that he brings nothing else to the table.

How about seeing the team actually play some games before labeling it a pathetic appointment.

They never overturned a deficit with this super fitness which again is very strange.

I'm sorry I always have suspicions about coaches that rely on an edge on fitness.

I know what you mean in regards to never overturning a deficit. I am hoping that that was due to the players at his disposal. I think there is only 4-5 players (other than youth prospects) that I would take off them and even then, that is only because of last seasons performances. I think our players have a higher threshold and maybe Poch can enable them to reach. At the start of last season, I would have taken Kaboul over Lovren, Capoue over Schneiderlin, Lamela over Lallana etc, in fact Shaw is the only player I would have taken off them.

The fading is to do with the intensity they play at, but even then most if not all teams fade, but rely on the tech ability to keep the ball as they rest, which is maybe something we can do better than the Southampton players.

BTW, if you read the comments from the Southampton players on Poch the signs are pretty good.

Well it really would depend on who else wanted him and what they are offering. Liverpool seem to be the other name currently linked and they can offer CL football as well as the same or better financial package. Ultimately it could come down to how highly he prizes his hub caps
