Well I'm hoping That player to replace Eriksen is BF. I'm very surprised that it was never our intention to spend in January as its been evident that wholesale changes are needed. If it doesn't come off that's different but I'd expect the intention to be there.

Can we limp on to the end of the season with the fullbacks as they are? Just imo. The emergence of Tanganga makes it a little more palatable. Can we get by with no attacking reinforcements? I doubt it.

DM. The need has been there for a number of windows.

I'm assuming that if Eriksen goes in this window then the replacement is brought in this window on loan with payments to purchase in the summer. Is that what we are looking at.

if there is something going on with the club ownership it doesn’t look great for short term transfer spending does it - no one buys new furniture for a house they are about to sell..

Enic talk could be anything...it’s likely the rumors will be they are selling up but what if the ‘whispers’ are that they are here to stay?!

Depends on the state of the current furniture and how that might play into future saleability.

If/when Eriksen goes? He's going in June regardless, we shouldn't be waiting around for him to leave to get in a replacement

Yeah come Jan 31st any money we get is a bonus but we still have to spend to get a replacement regardless and if you decide to not get your main target as you didnt get some extra Eriksen money you end up paying for it more in the long run for example the janssen deal to try and save money. Might aswell pay up if there's a risk of losing your long term target.

Really find it difficult to comprehend that there was never an intention to spend in January.

When in office Poch was stating rebuild required.

Allegedly almost signed Dybala in summer and thought was may go back in or look for alternative in januaru

As season has progressed inadequacies of squad became more apparant highlightong need to spend in several areas

So how can we not have been looking to spend. Yes market is difficult in January but if we do not want to regress too far there is a need and apparently there are players available

There's a part of me thinking we don't spend much in January because of the financial year and how it might look on the books buying big in two windows.

Not to mention the fact that so many holes have developed in the squad that we can't realistically address them all in one summer window (look no further than last summer). If we want to make up for the problems created by 18 months' worth of total neglect of the squad, we have to make piecemeal improvements whenever the opportunity arises. There's so much business to be done that I don't see how we can just sack off the winter window every year.

It happens everytime.

October - December/April-july - "The money is there to spend"

Then once the window opens..it's a case of "one in one out". The excuses are always out in force.

Why we're sitting around waiting for Eriksen to leave before we react I can't fathom.
