By participating in this thread it is assumed that you've read the specific rules for this thread as well as the site rules in general. If you haven't then please do so now. The banstick WILL be used on anyone taking the piss.

It looks like it's time to do this again as everyone seems to need a reminder :-(

This thread is primarily here for discussing the ITK. However, after much experimenting we found that generally things work best when we give people room to discuss other transfer news when there isn't any ITK. This has worked pretty well for the last few windows but now there's a lot of new people around who didn't go through this process with us and maybe don't understand it (and we haven't explained it for a while).

If there's recent ITK, then this thread should be discussing it and nothing else. There's the players threads for each player, use them if you want to discuss potential signings that aren't the subject of the ITK. If there's a lull in ITK then feel free to use this thread to chat about potential signings, other rumours, etc but you have to work with us and only use this for ITK when there is ITK to discuss. We can be relaxed about this if everyone goes along with it, or Stoof can use his banstick and moderate this thread to death.

There's so much rubbish on twitter that anything twitter related stays in it's own thread, even "official" twitter accounts.

Discussion of how the forum is run, what should and shouldn't be posted etc has no place in the ITK discussion thread. Post it somewhere else.

Finally, please work with us and help us to keep the ITK updated in the Read Only where it can be seen by everyone. That should be the place anyone looks first for ITK, not the Discussion Thread. If you find ITK, please post it there first where it will be approved by a mod. All can post there, but it takes a mod to approve it hence the delay. If that procedure is followed then no-one should ever miss ITK.

ANYTHING MEDIA RELATED TO GO IN THE PLAYER/MANAGER THREAD.
ANY TWITTER IN THE TWITTER THREAD.
ANY ITK POST IN THE READ ONLY, THEN DISCUSS HERE.

Yesterday's ITK began with BEN saying Clive Allen has definetely gone and that.......
BEN said:
AVB bringing in his own team and looking at a new scout.
Which was followed by The Goat telling us that
The Goat said:
Heard that Sturridge and Moutinho are AVB's priorities. Verts should still happen and Oscar is on our list buts it's likely either/or with him or Sig, not both.
Then Runar on COYS........
Runar said:
Just heard again from a very good source. Gylfi is a Tottenham player, the hold up is with Hoffenheim but everything seems to be confirmed. This is not the same source that told me about the 80k wages... this is a much better source but didn't know about the wages when I asked.
Multi sourced? Nice.
Finally over on COYS, Ali Z said.......
Ali Z said:
regarding Adebayor: From what I hear not in AVB plans.
And that was the ITK from yesterday...........

Ali Z seemed quite definite that Ade would not be joining us...not too devastated if that happens, just goes to show we are looking for better quality to join the AVB revolution!

Good morning all!

Did not Sigurdssons agent and dad, Sigurd Adalsteinsson, claim that Gylfi had signed for Tottenham and was to be official today? Would be good news, and then bring in Vertonghen.

Even though these two signs for Tottenham, I feel there is a lot of work left on the transfer market. One or two goalies and a few strikers should be a priority, add Moutinho to that mix and we could see an almost new Tottenham next season.

A little bit sad over the news about Ade, I did feel that he contributed in many ways last season: goals, assist and hold up play - but also some good team spirit.

Not too devastated about Ade. On his day he's unplayable, but those days too infrequent. Expensive too, so if AVB (so good to write that!) can spend Ade's wages better it would make sense IMHO.

I understand Adebayor refused to agree to hug AVB every time he scored a goal.

If we're talking about the same source (the social media outlet that cannotbe named) I think the account was fake. Something about the profile pic being Mel Stein and not Gylfi's old man

We'll struggle to get better than Adebayor.

Yes, but it's a struggle that is worth doing. We must back this manager 100%. It isn't worth getting him in and then inflicting expensive players on him that he doesn't want. This must be his squad.

on that basis, I expect lots of players to come and go this summer.

i guess AVB doesn't feel ade is the type of forward for his style of play rather than any reflection on his ability.

You are correct, after looking for the statement I came to the same conclusion...

Ade, won't miss his cheeky grin when he blazes a sitter, but was exactly what we needed last season.

I hope avb doesn't go all out for sturridge, would be decent for us, but we would overpay for his services.

What other strikers are out there that are good enough for us yet affordable?

I agree about the cheeky grin, something that really annoys me when a player smiles or pulls a stupid face after missing. I always found it odd that players like Rooney or Ronaldo who "sulk" get criticised by the press. Would rather have that passion than Crouch sticking his fucking tongue out! The amount of times I wanted to pull his tongue out watching him gurn like a knob!!

Well... given they speak the same language - we could hope for the neverending saga - Damiao... :cautious:

EDIT: But it has been a while since I heard any ITK about him... sorry about that.

Well if Yesterday WAS the day, today IS the day. I'm expecting the transfer merry go round to really start now.
I get a feeling a couple of deals have already been agreed (on AVB's suggestion maybe), but were never going to be announced until the manager bought in. Not a good look to be signing players with no manager in place. Now AVB has been announced, I'm fully expecting a number of players to follow quite quickly. Preseason starts next monday I believe, so I think there'll be at least three before then. Sigurdsson, Vertonghen, and possibly a striker too, I'd have thought Adebayor, but the Ali Z's ITK suggests otherwise, Goat's info means it could be Sturridge instead, which i wouldn't be against.
Incidentally, I'd be a bit disappointed if Ali Z's info is correct and Ade does not join, I think his workrate and commitment were first rate. At times I thought ideally he could've/should've scored more goals, but then 17 was not a bad haul really.
Is it selfish to want both Sturridge and Adebayor???

IMO this is all about AVB's experience at Chelsea with older players, lets be honest Ade has a track record of falling out with managers and I believe AVB didn't want to take the risk. One thing Harry was good at was managing players egos and did a good job with Adebayor

I suspect we'll see a younger striker coming in, maybe Portuguese.

If AVB is going to be successful he will need 'his' players around him
