Suddenly, we have an awful lot of experts on AVB's 4-3-3. Whilst this was apparently the system he employed at Porto, is there any evidence he is indissolubly wedded to it? All i read about him informs me that he is a highly intelligent, thinking coach; do highly intelligent, thinking coaches adhere to one system regardless? I'd like to think that AVB will not play a 4-3-3 come hell or high water.

And Rafa's missus loves London, apparently.

He implemented (or tried) that system at Chelsea to. Unless he drops down and take Lukas spot like he do on the dutch national team there arent many slots for him in that setup.
Formation and tactics might not be the same, and might even change it up a lot so who knows. My point was just there could be lot of reasons why this rumour pop up so much lately.
None wants him to leave, obviously.

I have a really good feeling about this Oscar kid. I hope we sign him up as I only have a really good feeling about players who become world-class.

When we signed Luka and GDS, I only had good vibes about Luka. I had good vibes about Berbs too, Bale also. Sandro I had good vibes too.

So if we sign Oscar by virtue of my gut feeling, which is never wrong, he's going to be a star. I have no idea about Sigs, no gut feeling... yet.

JJ has said we don't want to sell VDV, good news.
That's good, very good. We don't want to sell Modric either, but he wants to leave it seems.

With VDV, I do really believe he wants to stay, so if we want to keep him, I can't see him going!

I don't buy into this bollocks that VDV doesn't into a 4-3-3 system. He fits the formation perfectly either as the more advanced central midfielder or playing in from the right. I could even see him play the false number 9 with 2 wide attackers either side.

I think that's what all the ITK means. No plans to sell him, but if the right offer came along then we would heavily consider shipping him out. However, this has gotten skewed by all the rags so people now think his sale is imminent and we are shopping him when it really means if an outrageous offer came in we would sell him. At least that's the sense I have from reading between the lines of what has been presented to us.

All what ITK? Could you quote some?

I think the concern is more related to whether he could last in a team that presses high up the pitch and whether his fitness is up to it. That said, if properly managed and rotated, he would be a huge asset.

Surely the plan is for us to keep the ball for much of a game too though? I can't think of a better player to keep the ball.

Not to mention VDV is one of our hardest working players as it is. With a high defensive line and a more compact midfield he wont need to cover as much ground as he did under Harry's wide open tactics anyway.

On the site that must be named I had it confirmed from the king that we do not want to sell VdV.
What we (fans/ jj/ club) want and what actually happens are 2 different matters.
If the right bid comes in and vdv/ club/avb agree its a good deal then he will be sold, is what i read from the use of the word want. the fact that it does not say we will not sell is a little worrying.

Why should it be worrying? Every player is going to be sold if the offer is right, it doesn't mean that they will. The way i see it unless we get floored with an offer VdV is going nowhere, if there was a worry about VdV fitting in with AVB at the top levels, JJ wouldn't be saying such things.
