Ridiculous.

Have you forgotten that we were quoted £25m for Benteke a year ago? Villa won't be knocking off a few quid this summer, you know. Swansea have already warned would-be suitors for Bony that he's going to cost a similar sum. Rodriguez won't be cheap either, and is he all that good? (And if Pochettino wanted him, wouldn't it be his name that Stobart tweeted?)

Gala told Chelsea Yilmaz would be at least £20m some time ago, and do we really want to take a chance on someone who has only looked good in the Turkish league? I think not. Firmino isn't even a striker. He's a goalscoring Brazilian midfielder, and we've already got one of those, or so I'm reliably informed. Drmic has had one good season with Nürnberg.

Panini sticker scouting.

Oh, I'd be surprised if Soldado is here next season, and Kane isn't ready to lead the line.
Yilmaz has looked good in the Champions League too (8 goals in 9 games last year). Firmino is no more a midfielder than Dempsey and Drmic had a good season in the Swiss league last year and has 4 goals in 7 games for the Swiss national team.

Who were they against?

Nevertheless, that's what hes classed as.

Whoopdedoop.

We haven't been connected with any of them and nor are we likely to be. And they're all mercenaries anyway.

Last window we did no business at all. You mean last summer, I think. How much of a profit do you think we made then? Would you care to name a precise figure?
Uhh, we did no business at all? Mate, I wish we sold Jermain Defoe last summer and not in January. Anyway, yeah I meant last summer. And no I dont care to name a precise figure because I dont have one since the club never releases the figures with the business. But I'd reckon it is likely more than 10mill.

Man Utd, Braga, Schalke and CFR Clj.

Technically he is classed as a second striker.

He can only do well in the comepetions, which has has done well in all of them. It might only be the Swiss league but he scored 13 goals and assisted 6 in 31 games, mostly played from Left wing a few from the right and a few as a striker. In the same league (and season) Salah played 29 scored 5 assisted 4 and he is doing pretty well at Chelsea. Drmic also went for 3.5m (release clause) so it was well worth the risk.

Pretty much all footballers are "mercenaries". What makes these 3 players more "mercenary" than most other targets?

Because he's read on a remote Chinese footie blog that he is a disruptive shit wherever he has played.

The actual fact that he has scored fourteen goals in twenty six games for Newcastle last season also means that he is not up to the standard required by the people on here who live in between ga-ga land and utopia.

What started this off was Luke's hysterical response to the possibility that we might be signing Remy, Remy being a mercenary and therefore a disgrace to the game of football.
