Not sure about ITK, but the papers keep listing him with Jenas, Bentley, and Gomes as players about whom we "would listen to offers."

At this point, with the transfer window not really turning out to be the big squad makeover like some of us expected, perhaps it's best to keep him and give him a few runouts in a Spurs shirt.

If he can be successful for Tottenham A.) It helps us and B.) His value will only go up.

I must admit, even though he's been a different player between club and country, I remain intrigued by what he could offer this club if he is in-form as he was for Mexico.

If the fee isn't really that great, maybe it's best to keep him and give him those matches that are lesser or even in some cup matches.

I don't know, it just seems at this point he could give the squad some youth/depth and maybe even a surprise performance.

I'm not sure if that exact tweet has been posted, but if not something very similar was.

I think that's why a lot of us, while we would be pretty heartbroken to see VdV leave, respect his decision if it's got his family's best interest in mind. Can't fault a guy for taking care of his family. No matter what, VdV will always be special to me even if he's not in a Spurs shirt.

If Sylvie told me to move, I'd move. Quickly!

Not sure about this one. If we are looking to replace him even though he seems to suit AVB's system and would serve as a back up in an area we need cover, that means AVB must not really rate him.

But maybe he hasn't had enough time to decide with GDS at the Olympics?

Anyone ask JJ about Aubameyang recently? I prefer him to any other realistic striker target (So that's uh... Remy?).

The guy's an awesome talent and I bet St. Etienne would sell him off for anywhere between 7-9m?

He's the guy I think we should prioritise. Capable of covering Lennon and Ade if he goes down, and if we ever shift to 4-3-3 he would be ideal as the right forward, on top of this he's young and relatively inexpensive. Also, IMO we probably don't want direct cover for Ade at the moment when you consider Damiao is still a possibility mid season - I hope

another name that slipped off the radar was Thomas Muller? It was a pretty tenuous link but does anyone know?

I can't see DL ponying up the cash needed for Muller even with Modric being sold. He'd look great up in the right wing in a 433

Yeah Muller was mentioned several times by akq and spurvert and then it just vanished. Not even a "this deal is off" kind of thing iirc. He'd be a great option though. Could play RW or as our backup ST. Young and known worldwide. Played a big part in a lot of huge matches in the last few years.

Yep, no chance now that I think about it again.

hey I've been looking on youtube at this great young winger giovani dos santos, plays for Mexico and scores bucket loads... apparently only 6M could be a bargain?

Glad Lloris looks like it'll be done, going by their president's comments and also Lloris' father a few weeks back.

Probably not the most important of positions to fill asap, but if we miss him now, we may have to go for a substandard keeper later. With Gomes maybe going back to PSV, that leaves us with 2 OAPs and a Jansson.

I went away for vacation for over a week and barely checked any news. Seems like I might have had my biggest R&R from checking here. I might need to play this next August as well. Kind of wish I could have booked til Sept 1st. :)

I think Jansson has been sold/released
