I think the most likely outcome in the perennial Spurs striker hunt is not anyone we've been linked with but a left field Baldini signing, hopefully of Porto style quality.

I hope we get Benteke, I really do. I'm convinced he'd do brilliantly for us, but much more importantly if AVB is convinced, which he obviously is, then we need to go for it.

There was quite a bit of chat on COYS yesterday saying that Luka would probably urge them to come to us. He loved his time here and Levy even went to the training ground to say good bye when he left. Agreed he didnt go under the best cicumstances but think he appreciated the backing he always got from the fans

Well, we took a chance on him. Practically every CL regular had kicked his tires and given his suspension a quick going over for the previous couple of yrs but nobody wanted to take the risk on a player who had the physical size and presence of a 9 yr old who had very unfortunately just undertaken aggressive treatment for leukaemia.
It was us or the Barcodes.
