I reckon we did offer £20m, they just wanted £27m based on who they had already sold and the values they went for.

Which is why we should have got in there early

If Poch wanted MS we should have gone for him on the first day of the transfer window

I get the impression reports of 12 million were over exaggerated. Also we wanted MS or JR in return. If we just gave up AT without getting one of those two then we'd be Southamptons bitches - and everyone knows we belong to Real Madrid.
Lol, hardly call us their bitches! They would of realised who got done after watching him for a couple of months. X

Just as a going concern we made £1.5m - http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/26847888.app

Is a purchase at almost thirty times that realistic?

I think if we wrote it as 27,000,000 then people might just realise how much money that actually is.

A million here or a million there - well actually that's the difference between us turning a profit or making a loss.

So no, I'm not an accountant, nor am I the club's accountant but I deal with multi-million pound deals and I know how much businesses fight over the pennies.

The only thing I'd say with regards to that is, there is a good chance its fiddled in some way. Levy won't want to pay tax on profits.

The thing is as well with people who say 'we should net spend every once in a while' is that they would never stick to that... They would splash the cash every window and on every deal, and if Levy and Co. did it once they would keep on expecting it.

We can forget about going back in Jan for Morgan and JRod, same BS will happen again, we tried etc etc.
ANOTHER year goes by where we make more from SELLING then Buying, that is what really pisses me off!

In janaury teams don't like to sell their best players unless it's a huge money ... It will be the excuse that time again ..

There is more to the deal than you know in regards to fee and ownership ..... Not for here

Does it involve tons of charlie being reduced to liquid form, put into tankers, being loaded into a cargo vessel and sailing from South America to an African port run by Al Qaeda fund raising drug barons ?

I fucking knew it.

You have absolutely no idea how I am at a game not that's its relevant to having our eyeballs out again...

I live in some small hope that a takeover is coming...and its slightly more tolerable than being 16000th on the waiting list...

You should go support Man City or Chelsea then if that's the case. They splash the cash at every available opportunity. That's what you seem to want. Their fans are a lot like you too.

And ye you're right I have no idea how you are at games, but judging by your posts I have a fair idea.
I'm Not going to reply to you anymore because it's clogging up the thread and I don't want to lose privileges to the ITK and TR sections in future windows. And I just don't want to have this 'discussion' with you anymore either.

On topic; As I said before, I'm happy we didn't just buy for the sake of it, and that Poch Is happy. We bought some players in positions that needed freshening up, and a bit more depth and quality. Some players, like BS are a bit of an unknown quantity but so was Dier and he's done well so far.

I don't think any of the signings can be bad.

French league winner daily recent.
Europa league winning captain.
Left back badly needed.

Sandro can't pass 10 yards.
Daws has been up and down.
Holtby is not our level.

But we haven't done enough. We are still suffering from a bloated squad, we've had for years due to Levy's ineptness. We still have a lot of decent players, but thats all they are, decent.

His last minute methods just don't work anymore for football purposes, they are to make money, and its at our expense.

He's had his time. He brought the club back to where it should be, but doesn't have it in the locker to take us on. The continued failure to build a new ground is the final nail for me.

Sooner or later we will have another credit crunch, and no fucker will want to put up the money for the ground, and then we would have had all this scrimping and saving for nothing.

JR is a free agent next summer according to some people on here? 6 months left on a contract = bad times.

If we don't get Rodriguez in January we are likely to get him in the Summer, and on a free as his contract will have expired.

I am sure any CL club will offer him more money and he will go there ...Thn we will be hearing , well it's not like we didn't try , transfers are not that much easy even if it's free , there are teams looking for quality strikers bla bla bla

Just shows that the little baldy has no desire to win anything other than the net spend/balancesheet league

Sure. But the point stands right? If 27m goes out, it's gotta come in again right?

None of the top 5 clubs need a player like him right now? Not as first choice anyway.

What are you talking about. We are the 6th richest club in the league. The 3rd highest ticket prices. And we've spent the least in the league for 5 years. Now 6. Don't make an extreme, sweeping example of me to defend the indefensible. Its embarrassing.

That fails to consider this summer's income from sales and the vast increase in TV money. £27m was too much for MS, but a deal involving Townsend may have made that more reasonable.
