Great that we’re so able to sign Eze, hopefully we go for it. One obvious deal is Hojbjerg I imagine but can’t say I see any other of the links being that obviously close unless I’ve missed something.

Thanks for the info herc, hope you and your nuts are well.
Wilson or Aarons I assume

Assume deals are PEH and Parrott so that's good news.

Suppose with Eze it's down to whether Jose thinks he can be disciplined enough to play for him. Hard to see him being worse than Moura in terms of output.

Eze looks really exciting going forward but his one criticism is that he only likes to attack and not defend. Given Jose likes each of his players to attack and defend as a team this could be a stumbling block with Eze. Depends if he’s just young and knows no better or if he’s lazy and no plans on changing.

Cheers for the update @Hercules.

The optimist in me thinks the two deals are PEH and another incoming.

The realist thinks it's PEH and Parrott.

This would need to be drilled into him especially with Jose in charge, and I think he will, he will have gotten his PL move so you'd like to think he'd do all he can to impress.

PEH is one (close)
son’s mate is the other

PS: Close does not equate to ‘done deals!’ Looking very good#Prayinghands

Thank you for clarifying. Hopefully both end up as DDs.

The two circumstances where personal productivity goes in the toilet are when the Spurs play during working hours and the ITK's start posting during the transfer window. Thanks Hercules, Trix, et al.

I think it makes sense for Jose to be wary of pulling the trigger on Eze if funds are limited this summer. Especially with the likes of Willian (free) or Coutinho (loan) being touted around. He'd probably want to hold on until those kind of doors get completely shut.

In a normal window I'd consider a deal like Eze a total no brainer, especially if Amos can be tied in, but this isn't normal.

Good news on PEH if he is indeed Jose's #1 and he comes in early. Kim looks an interesting one that could have a big upside if he comes good.

Modern footballers are so much more about effort and athleticism than ever before. It’s not unusual to see skilful players with high work rates. I’d imagine the prevailing expectation of working hard, combined with a coaching ethos that promotes this as a central principle to team identity would ensure most young footballers ally individual skill with team effort. And, of course, as you say he’d probably be very keen to impress in the PL

I agree with this, whilst Eze looks to be very talented, spending £20m ish on a player who is unlikely to be a first team starter is a bit of a gamble right now. If we can get Eze and one other attacking player then it makes sense, but if we only have funds for one attacking player then we should see if the likes of Coutinho are available on loan before pulling the trigger on Eze.

I guess the other factor is whether we can sell anyone as well, perhaps if we can shift Lamela then it makes sense to bring in Eze as his replacement and still have space for one other.

Also great to see we're making progress on Kim and PEH - would be great to get both CB and DM positions sorted out early.

PEH I get. He clearly fills a hole. And even if neither of Skipp or Sissoko leave we are not necessarily crowded in that position.

Kim and Eze is different. Who are we selling?

From one perspective, if Levy reckons it’s a too good to miss deal, you’d hope he just pulls the trigger. Eze could be the Maddison/Grealish player we don’t miss out on. Besides, if it’s reasonable, he’d still be saleable even if he didn’t quite make it.

We'll replace Foyth with Kim i'd imagine. Pretty much straight swap with the funds involved you'd think.

Assuming Kim is Jan's replacement?
