Good take Barry , but let's not forget that Muniain is almost 2 years younger than Griezmann, not to mention he is predominantly a right-footer, while Griezmann is left (although he is normally employed at Bilbao along the same flank as Griezmann for Sociedad --> as an inverted LWF vs Griezmann, who's LW in 4-2-3-1 or LWF in 4-3-3, respectively).
So it's early days to compare the two kids, but for a 20 yr old, Muniain is pretty fucking impressive.
Griezmann is already a star in the making, imho (well, they both are, if developed properly).
Regardless of the differences though, I'd be over not only the moon, but the stars as well, if we could sign either of them.
Yessir!

Don't get me wrong I think Iker is such a massive talent and has that extra ingredient the desire to win every game and run through bricks walls to do it and once he learns that (seemingly) shouldering that burden for the whole team is not the best way to necessarilly achieve that and focuses more on how he can be best effective he will have it all (except a bit of height and a bit of temperament, one of which ain't going to change and the other you probably wouldn't want to change)
I don't think it's any surprise that he struggled when Bilbao's other two best players left and Bielsa has to take a lot of blame too, the way he tends to play around with selections and tactics is not conducive to helping get a young player focussed or confident. I think in a stronger team where he wouldn't feel the same need to take so much on and with a manager that gave him clear and consistent responsibilities curbed with just a bit of freedom he'd be a great addition to that club
Personally I'd play him as the more advanced of a central midfield three orchestrating attacks and linking play, but giving him more space to play and also opportunity to be involved tackling and harrying, he needs to be involved and thrives on it, just needs the right role and the right manager to keep him focussed
As for Griezmann he still tends to play the left but more and more they are using him in a more flexible role, am/orchestrator, second striker and even main striker on one occasion and I've seen him turning up on the right quite a bit. The thing ais he is so flexible and performs really well in any role he's been asked to do and this season I notice he is adding more workrate defensively when there's been need. He really has developed these laszt two seasons and the flexibility and skill he has shown makes me believe he'd be perfect in a pacy skillful interchanging front three, because he can literally slot into any of the three attacking roles and do it well
We live in hope eh, as you say either would be great, I don't mind if Christmas presents don't arrive till January this time
It's OK, you'll get over it... eventuallyI feel lost these past few days without a Spurs games and no more transfer rumours.
