Don't want to scare anyone. With the ITK yesterday that we are going to try and get another striker, my gf has just spotted Peter Crouch in London ;)

You can see Crouch in Stoke from London though.

Whether Eriksen or Alderweireld is overrated or not, I'm sure they will turn out to be great signings that can only improve our squad. Both are familiar with the 4-3-3 system and both have developed their talents through the world-renowned Ajax academy, that means two things, one their technical ability has been honed and developed to be above average and second that they are versatile players who are comfortable and effective playing in several positions! Both players are also regulars for their national team, this means they will get extra game time to develop their skills in high-pressure situations! They are also very highly rated youngsters, if they haven't quite proven themselves (a bit like Dempsey) after two seasons I'm sure they'll be clubs willing to at least make our money back on these players! Wages as well wouldn't be too much of an issue! Ajax are not known for paying large wage bills and I'm sure neither will demand a huge upgrade for a move they will enjoy! Toby apparently can be deployed as either a CB, DM or as a RB this is because he has exceptional dribbling and passing ability for a defensive player, not quite as good as Vertonghen but he's about 3 years younger! I know AVB has doubts about certain aspects of his defensive abilities but those can be worked on and improved under the right tutelage and besides the AVB 4-3-3 is meant to dominate teams, to pin them down in their own half and if you have the passing ability and creativity that both Verts and Toby have (from CB!) then that can be lethal weapon! Eriksen is a tricky one because I haven't seen him play as much as Ajax fans and their criticism of him is, is that he seems to go missing for most of some games! I don't see this as being a problem! The premier league plays on much smaller pitches than inn most foreign leagues (ie La Liga and Eredivisie) and with the likes of Paulinho and Sandro or Dembele feeding him I'm sure we won't encounter the same problems! I see Eriksen being deployed as either the most advanced CM or on the LW, from both positions he will be able to see a lot of the ball as well as influence the attacking side of our play greatly, this can be done by either roaming or cutting inside (from LW (imagine that him receiving the ball on the left cutting in and chipping/sliding the ball through to Soldado or the Welshmen to slot home :) )) Again any issues he may have I'm sure AVB will drill the hell out of Eriksen to fine tune him into the dominating, creative we all believe he can become! He's also a wicked set-piece taker either from corners or free-kicks and that is a part of our play we definitely need to work on (especially corners ) So from that view-point I can only see this move as a good thing (look at me talking as if it's a definite thing :( ) My only concern is that with any move for Eriksen, this makes me fear for Lucky Holtby! Who is a real talent and another that can be turned into a dominating roaming midfielder and shouldn't be abused as a bench player!

But how could he demand a first team place at all, since he hasn't even had his first team debut in Sporting?
Has played for the first team 4 times according to Wiki, scoring once.

JJ seems a little behind the curve here - a quick google shows this was in the hatemail Tuesday last week already. OK perhaps chance but eventually they had to get something right.

Jug = Jug Ears. We are signing Gary Linker??

I know we need another striker, but thats a bit desperate isnt it?

That's my input for the day, I will shut up now, after all ... Silence is Golden!

I like the point you are making here, but your posts raises some serious questions that need to be addressed. Chief among which, has some prankster somehow swapped the exclamation mark key with the full-stop key on your keyboard?

nah i just like em, i find you can see em better than the full stop! (full stops are too small for me ;) ) and besides other punctuation can also be used to end a sentence!

Coming from the hatemail it's just paper talk.

Coming from JJ means it's actually going to happen.

I thought he just had a broken return/enter key.
